An unmanned aerial vehicle delivery system utilizes an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) to deliver packages between an initiation point and multiple delivery points at a raised elevation. The UAV flies between points in an organized manner, using logistical, maintenance and safety software, commands from a delivery organization, and guidance tools to coordinate deliveries. One advantage of the system is that the UAV engages the delivery points at a raised elevation, rather than the ground level. The UAV docks through an elevated structure at the delivery point for delivering the package and replenishing a power source. The package is conveyed from a docking end and through a central shaft of the elevated structure by means of an elevator. The package then travels to a lower structure, such as a house or office, for pickup. After completion of the delivery, the UAV replenishes its power source and/or continues on the delivery route.

Unmanned aerial delivery system

A portable soldering system has a caddy collar atop the rim of a bucket and a torch, the flame end of which may heat the tip of a soldering iron. A gas canister, connected to the torch, protrudes from the bucket through a seating opening in the side wall of the bucket. A torch mount positions the torch and the gas canister. The caddy collar has a cradle that may seat the soldering iron.

Portable, self-contained soldering system

A masking device for performing high-resolution photoresist-based lithography in the fabrication of integrated circuits. The heart of the device is a cylindrical block made of material transparent to, and manifesting a relatively high index of refraction for, the wavelengths of light to be used in conjunction with it. The mask end of the block is imprinted with a pattern of ridges corresponding to the pattern to be illuminated on the photoresist. The mask end, including the inter-ridge troughs, is covered with a metal film several tens of .ANG. thick. The troughs are filled in with a material such as carbon black strongly absorptive of the wavelengths that will emerge from the mask. The sides of the block are covered with a metal cladding sufficiently thick to prevent any light from escaping from the block. The top end of the block, opposite the mask end, is left uncovered. In operation, the block is used in conjunction with a precise positioning mechanism for locating the block in the horizontal plane and for maintaining a very small, but non-zero, distance between the mask ridges and the photoresist layer, such that the photoresist layer is in the near-field of the mask. In this manner, the photoresist can be illuminated with the pattern desired, with a resolution sufficient to produce circuit elements with dimensions much less than the wavelength of light entering the top end of the mask block.

Proximity masking device for near-field optical lithography

A modular tire building machine servicer for use with a tire component building drum is characterized by a plurality of stackable servicer modules stacked substantially along an arcuate path struck substantially about the axis of the drum, each module being capable of supplying and dispensing tire components to a tire building drum, such providing adaptability of the servicer for different applications, as well as facilitating loading and transportation of the same from one location to another, without changing the construction of the basic servicer module. Several banks of stacked servicer modules may be mounted on a shuttle module for multistation operation. Each servicer module has provision for supporting stock and liner take-up rolls and includes fixed and hingedly mounted component dispensing trays which when the modules are arcuately stacked, are all located proximate the tire building drum for application of components thereto. Each servicer module is easy to stack and width adjustable within each station with like side plates being interconnected at the distal ends of the outer legs of the side plates by adjustable telescoping beams which additionally provide for the interconnection of adjacent stacked modules. A simplified common drive is provided for the servicer modules which may be driven by the tire building machine or independently thereof. The servicer modules may also be provided with a plurality of optional modular components for flexibility in the ultimate design of the servicer without changing the basic modular unit.

Modular servicer

A flip-over PCI which includes a rotatable or oscillatable frame having pairs of tire engaging rims mounted thereon, the inner rim of each pair being fixed to the frame on opposite sides thereof and including an axially projecting and axially rotatable lock shaft, the outer rim of each pair including a housing for the lock shaft. The lock shaft and housing are constructed for alignment and safety so that the outer rim cannot rotate with respect to the inner rim and the lock shaft can rotate with respect to the outer rim only when the two rims are adjacent each other when the tire is not inflated. The rotation of the outer rim is precluded by an interference between the two rims when closely adjacent each other and by an interference between the shaft and housing when the rims are separated. One or the other of such interferences is always operative.
