A motor vehicle includes a vehicle including a motor, a battery, two or more wheels, an air pump, a compressed air tank, a pneumatic motor connected to the air tank, an alternator/generator connected to the pneumatic motor, the alternator/generator connected to a vehicle battery, the battery connected to the vehicle motor. The air pump provides air to the air tank, pressurized air from the air tank operates the pneumatic motor, the pneumatic motor operates the alternator/generator, the alternator/generator provides power to the battery; and the battery provides power to the motor and/or to one or more electrical components associated with the vehicle.

Self-charging vehicle

A method to use hydraulic pressure to power a vehicle includes providing a hydraulic fluid power system having a motor in communication with a hydraulic pump; a hose in communication with the hydraulic pump, the hose having a one way valve; a gear motor in fluid communication with the hose to receive hydraulic fluid therefrom; and an alternator to receive power from the gear motor and to transfer power to a battery for storage; operating the hydraulic pump via the motor such that hydraulic fluid is pumped through the hose to the gear motor; charging the battery with power generated by the gear motor and alternator; and using the battery for one or more components of the vehicle.

Vehicle hydraulic power system

A wheeled snow shovel is provided with a rotation about two intersecting axis to allow shoveling of snow at one location and discharge of the picked up snow and discharge of snow at a different point by rotation of the shovel with a sidewise rotation.

Energy conserving wheeled shovel

A secondary containment pipe system disposed around a primary pipe system and comprising a joint that is divided along a central parting plane and has laterally projecting flanges that form internal passages for adhesive sealing cement, that is injected through ports while the joint is clamped together around secondary containment pipes. The joint has pipe sockets that have internal grooves that also are filled with injected cement, thus forming a continuous, uninterrupted seal around the interior of the joint, and also has spillover grooves and wells for minimizing leakage, and lateral aligning surfaces. The clamping means are C-shaped clips that can be left in place indefinitely. The secondary containment pipes also are divided, being formed by elongated pipe elements fitted together around the primary pipes and having snap-latching coupling means along their abutting edges. One embodiment has internal reinforcing flaps that extend across the abutting edges and define internal sealing passages along the coupling means to be filled with injected adhesive cement through external ports, and also has means along the free edges for holding the flaps in place. A second pipe embodiment has tongue-and-groove couplings along thickened edges, and internal passages along the couplings in the form of enlarged coupling grooves, and an external reinforcing strip is provided for optional use in pressurized systems.

Secondary containment system and method

Disclosed herein is apparatus for testing the weld strength of a battery connection extending through a hole in a battery partition and between first and second lugs located in adjacent parallel relation to the partition and each including an end surface and a pair of side surfaces extending in parallel relation to each other and in transverse relation to the end surface, which apparatus comprises a vertically movable main frame including a holding surface adapted for engagement with the end surface of the first lug, a sub-frame carried by the main frame and movable vertically relative to the main frame, horizontally movable clamping members carried by the sub-frame for clampingly engaging the side surfaces of the second lug to the sub-frame, a cylinder for applying a force for vertically displacing the main frame to engage the holding surface with the end surface of the first lug and to retain the holding surface against vertical movement after engagement with the end surface of the first lug, a second cylinder for applying a force for horizontally displacing the clamping members to clampingly engage the second lug to the sub-frame, and a third cylinder for applying a force for vertically upwardly displacing the sub-frame while maintaining the sub-frame in clamping engagement with the second lug and while maintaining the holding surface in engagement with the end surface of the first lug and against vertical movement, whereby to subject the connection to shearing stress.
