A rotary thresher for a combine harvester including at least a first concave and a second concave, which may be rotated around a rotor to move to or from a threshing position or one or more of one or more resting positions. The concaves are mounted in a frame that is configured to rotate around the rotor such that the second concave moves during rotation from a first resting position to the threshing position while the first concave is moved from the threshing position to a second resting position.

In a grain unloading system for a combine harvester a grain bin includes a frame, the frame has a floor with a trough. An unloading auger is disposed at least partially within the trough. An auger cover at least partially covers the auger. The auger cover has a hat for a top portion of the auger cover and a pair of gates movable between the hat and locations on the floor that are proximal to the trough. A gate adjustment structure is coupled to the pair of gates to move the pair of gates relative to the auger. A control system is coupled to the gate adjustment structure and configured to control the gate adjustment structure.

Flow rate control for a combine harvester unloading system

A combine harvester including a frame and two axial-flow crop processing rotors mounted to the frame. An inner support structure is located between the two rotors and mounted to the frame by a first linkage. Two outer support structures are located outboard of the two rotors and mounted to the frame by respective second and third linkages. The inner support structure and two outer support structures carry first and second pluralities of concave grate segments at a radial distance from the respective rotors. A concave adjustment system includes a first actuator coupled to the first linkage which is configured to raise and lower the inner support structure. A second actuator is coupled to the second and third linkages and is configured to raise and lower the two outer support structures. The first linkage includes a first rockshaft mounted to the frame and aligned perpendicular to the rotation axis. The second and third linkages include and share a second rockshaft that is arranged coaxial to the first rockshaft.

An unloading system for a combine harvester having a belt-driven unloading auger assembly and a spill saver door mounted proximate to a discharge end of the unloading auger assembly. Engagement of the belt drive is controlled by a first hydraulic cylinder. Opening of the spill saver door is controlled by a second hydraulic actuator. The first and second hydraulic cylinders are hydraulically connected in parallel.

An unloading conveyor swing control system including an unloading conveyor fitted to a self-propelled harvesting machine such as a combine harvester. The conveyor is moveable around a pivot axis through a movement range between a first, stowed, position and a second position. An actuator is connected to the conveyor and arranged to move the conveyor throughout the movement range. A sensor is configured to sense an angular position of the conveyor within the movement range and generate a representative position signal. A user interface device is provided for receiving user-commands to move the conveyor. A controller is in communication with the sensor, the actuator and the user interface device. The conveyor is automatically moved into the stowed position in response to an angular position falling below a predetermined threshold angle.

A combine harvester includes a residue management system having a chaff spreader mounted to a straw chopper. The chaff spreader is positioned in front of the straw chopper and is configured to collect and spread chaff from a cleaning shoe when in a spreading position. A mechanical linkage is provided between the straw chopper and chaff spreader so that movement of the straw chopper from an operating position to a non-operating position is translated into pivoting of the chaff spreader from a spreading position to a non-spreading position.

A cleaning shoe material-other-than-grain (MOG) discharge system of a combine harvester has a thresher rotor assembly configured to produce a stream of thresher rotor MOG and a shoe disposed beneath the thresher rotor assembly configured to produce a stream of shoe MOG. A chopper receives and chops the stream of thresher rotor MOG. Vanes disposed at an outlet of the chopper distribute the chopped thresher rotor MOG. A plate having top and bottom surfaces is adjacent to the plural vanes. A duct is set on the plate, the duct having a first inlet and a first outlet, the first inlet disposed adjacent to an outlet of the shoe to receive the stream of shoe MOG, the first outlet disposed downstream of the outlet of the chopper such that the stream of shoe MOG is received in the stream of chopped thresher rotor MOG.

A combine harvester has a thresher rotor assembly having a thresher rotor and a grate. At least one distribution device is disposed beneath the thresher rotor and is controllable to deflect grain falling from the thresher rotor assembly in a transverse direction. The distribution device may take the form of stub augers, pivoting plates or sliding plates. A cleaning shoe has a pan upon which grain falling from the thresher rotor assembly impacts. Plural sensors are disposed adjacent the pan and are each arranged to generate a signal indicative of crop load on the pan, wherein the distribution device is controlled automatically in response to the generated load signals.

The airflow through a harvesting machine is adjusted by calculating a G-factor at a first point on an upper chaffer to determine if it is greater than 1+n, where n represents a desired factor. A blower is adjusted to reduce an airstream if the G-factor is greater than 1+n. A MOG factor is calculated if the G-factor is less than 1+n. The blower is adjusted to increase the airstream if the MOG-factor is less than 1+x, where x represents a desired factor. A MOG-factor is calculated at a second point if the MOG-factor at the point is greater than 1+x and the blower is adjusted to reduce the airstream if the MOG-factor at the second point is greater than 1+y, where y represents a desired factor or adjusted to increase the airstream if the MOG-factor at the second point is less than 1+y.

A work vehicle includes a first loader arm portion pivotably connected at one end to a frame of the vehicle and configured to slidably receive a second loader arm portion along an opposed end of the first loader arm portion. A mechanical linkage interconnects the loader arm portions and the frame. A fluid cylinder operatively connected between each of the frame and the loader arm portions is configured to raise and lower the loader arm portions between a retracted (lowered) position and an extended (raised) position. As the fluid cylinder is actuated to urge the loader arm portions toward the extended (raised) position, the mechanical linkage results in slidable movement of the second loader arm portion with respect to the first loader arm portion so that a collective length of the loader arm portions in the extended (raised) position is increased.

A combine harvester has a threshing mechanism for threshing grain and cleaning apparatus for removing chaff from the threshed grain. The threshing mechanism includes a rotor and a plurality of concaves and the cleaning apparatus includes and upper chaffer and a lower sieve. A blower provides cleaning air to the combine harvester. The blower is situated in a blower housing having a first cut off plate separating high-velocity air coming from the blower and directing a first portion of the high-velocity air to a lower duct that provides an airstream to the upper chaffer and lower sieve. The blower housing also has a second cut off plate directing a second portion of the high-velocity air to an upper duct that provides an airstream under the concaves. A leading portion of the second cut off plate contains a rolled edge along the width of the upper duct.

A steering and engine speed control mechanism for operating a vehicle. The control mechanism has a control handle mounted on the vehicle. The control handle is configured to deflect about an axis by movement of an operator's hand. A steering direction of the vehicle is related to a deflection angle of the control handle about the axis. An actuating element for changing the speed of the engine of the vehicle is attached to the control handle and is conveniently movable by an operator's digit to a plurality of positions to effect the desired speed of the engine.
