A method of cooling a portion of a gas turbine engine includes positioning a tie rod relative to an inner frame case. The tie rod includes a bushing opening and the inner frame case includes a fastener opening. A fastener is secured through the fastener opening in the inner frame case to a threaded bushing located in the bushing opening. The threaded bushing includes a distal end that forms a clearance gap with the inner frame case. Heat is transferred from the fastener through the threaded bushing to prevent the fastener from creeping.

Mid-turbine frame assembly

A method of assembling a mid-turbine frame includes engaging at least two tabs in a radially inner end of at least one spoke in a groove in an inner frame case. The at least one spoke is secured to the inner frame case with a central bolt extending through the inner frame case into the at least one spoke.

Tie rod for a mid-turbine frame

A fastener assembly includes a first component that includes a bushing opening. A second component includes a fastener opening. A threaded bushing is at least partially located within the bushing opening. A fastener extends through the fastener opening and engages the bushing.

An assembly is provided for a turbine engine. This turbine engine assembly includes a tie-rod and a threaded retainer. The tie-rod includes a tie-rod threaded portion and a tie-rod unthreaded portion. The threaded retainer includes a retainer threaded portion and a retainer unthreaded portion. The retainer threaded portion is mated with the tie-rod threaded portion. The retainer unthreaded portion is radially engaged with the tie-rod unthreaded portion.

Moment accommodating fastener assembly

A wall panel assembly includes a first liner panel and a coating. The first liner panel has an inner first liner panel surface and a first liner panel outer surface each axially extending between a first liner panel first end and a first liner panel second end. The coating is disposed on at least one of the first liner panel inner surface and the first liner panel outer surface. The coating has an overall thickness that varies axially between the first liner panel first end and the first liner panel second end.

A fastener assembly includes a first component including a first fastener opening that has a cylindrical portion and a conical portion. A second component includes a second fastener opening. A fastener for extending through the first fastener opening and the second fastener opening and a clinch nut for attaching to the fastener is included.

A mid-turbine frame is provided. The mid-turbine frame may comprise an inner case having an annular surface with an interface section disposed on the annular surface. The interface section may include an interface feature. A balancing section may be disposed on the annular surface defining an opening and disposed circumferentially adjacent the interface section.

A mid-turbine frame connected to at least one mount of a gas turbine engine transfers a first load from a first bearing and a second load from a second bearing to the mount. The mid-turbine frame includes a plurality of inverted panels and a plurality of struts. The inverted panels convert the first and second loads to a shear flow. The struts are connected to the inverted panels and transfer the shear flow to the mount.
