A container-closure assembly comprises a container molded of relatively soft plastic and a closure cap molded of relatively hard plastic and having a top wall and a continuous side wall. Threads are formed on both the finish of the container and inward on the side wall of the cap. The threads on the cap comprise three threaded segments spaced about the inner circumference of the side wall. The segments include an inward upwardly sloping rib, the upper surface of which is formed with a plurality of wedge-shaped teeth. In use, the closure is screwed on to the top of the container finish and the teeth dig onto the underside of the threads on the finish causing the instantaneous elastic deformation of the plastic of the finish to anchor the cap against removal.

This invention relates to a nozzle for dispensing and aerating liquids. The nozzle provides for the formation of a substantially hollow conical vortex which aspirates air into the nozzle. The vortex is formed within a first chamber so that the base of the vortex impinges upon the chamber walls. This impingement results in the formation of a turbulent film which, when brought in contact with the aspirated air, results in aeration of the liquid forming the film. A foam-like characteristic is given the liquid by the entrapment of the air as the liquid is dispensed. The aspirated air enters through the downstream end of the nozzle but is directed both towards the front of the vortex and towards the rear of the vortex.

Nozzle

This invention relates to a nozzle which is capable of selectively dispensing a liquid product as a foam or a spray. A swirl chamber delivers a vortical sheet from the nozzle orifice. The nozzle features a movable chamber which can be moved to a point where it offers no interference with the vortical sheet and thus the spray mode of delivery is effected. The chamber can be moved to a point where interference with the vortical sheet is effected and the formation of a turbulent film is realized. Gas passageways are provided to achieve aeration of the turbulent film and the resultant dispensing of the liquid as a foam.

This invention relates to a nozzle for dispensing and aerating liquids. The nozzle provides for the formation of a substantially hollow conical vortex which aspirates air into its interior. An accumulative pressure pump that has upper and lower pressure chambers of different diameters, each of which is provided with a piston having a connected stem. A third seal piston is provided between the upper and the lower piston. Inlet and outlet check valves are provided. The outlet valve opens on accumulation of pressure on the downward stroke of the two pistons. The lower portion of the inner sidewall of the lower chamber is provided with a rib or a recess to permit any air trapped in the two chambers to be expelled through a bottom opening that is provided in the lower chamber. The dip tube is connected directly to the second piston and has its end abutting or adjacent the bottom of the container and is reciprocal with the second piston whereby its lower end moves into the lowermost portion of the container to permit substantial removal of the entire contents of the container.

Accumulative pressure pump

A dispensing device for a pressurized liquid container capable of delivering metered quantities of an aerosol composition having a discharge tube through which the container can be filled with fluids under pressure including a generally cylindrical chamber including an upper chamber and a generally cylindrical lower chamber, a discharge tube mounted in the sealed upper end of the chamber and extending into the chamber, the discharge tube being axially movable in the chamber and having a cup-shaped piston member rigidly connected thereto, the cup-shaped piston having a resilient rim slidable within the lower chamber when the discharge tube is depressed a predetermined amount to isolate a metered quantity of fluid within the upper chamber, the rim of the cup-shaped piston member being sufficiently resilient to allow fluids introduced under pressure through said discharge tube during filling of the container to flow between the rim and the side walls of the lower chamber.

Pressure fillable dispensing device

A continuous, extended spray pump which has two opposing and coaxial chambers. The upper chamber is fitted with an upper and middle piston urged upwardly by a spring, the lower chamber is fitted with an opposing piston urged upwardly by a spring. When the upper and middle pistons are depressed, pressure is built up and the lower piston moves downward. Discharge occurs when the lower end of the lower piston is deflected by nibs on the inside of the upper chamber.

Extended spray pump

A finger operated accumulative pressure spray pump which has two opposing and coaxial chambers. The upper chamber is fitted with an upper and middle piston urged upwardly by a spring, and the lower chamber is fitted with an opposing piston urged upwardly by a spring. A port connects the space between the two upper pistons with the external atmosphere.

The upper chamber is fitted with an upper and middle piston urged upwardly by a spring, and the lower chamber is fitted with an opposing piston urged upwardly by a spring. A port connects the space between the two upper pistons with the external atmosphere, and a one-way check valve controls the liquid flow between the upper and lower chambers.

A nozzle for fitment to hand actuated liquid pumps having a barrel portion with a bore therethrough for passage of a liquid is disclosed. The nozzle features an integrally formed nozzle cap which is mounted to the barrel and which encloses an integrally formed sealing structure. The sealing structure provides a peripheral seal to provide a liquid-tight seal around the barrel between the nozzle cap and the barrel. The sealing structure also provides a check valve portion which is movably positioned at the mouth of the bore. The check valve is biased to form a liquid-tight bore seal. This bore seal is overcome by liquid pressure which builds in the bore upon actuation of the pump. Also provided is a spray member which is fittable within the nozzle cap and which is in abutment with the end wall of the nozzle cap. The spray member, along with the wall of the nozzle cap which it abuts, form a path for the liquid as it is dispensed, which path will cause the liquid to break up and form a spray pattern.

Closure for squeeze bottle is provided with swirl chamber into which liquid and air from inside the bottle are introduced. Either the liquid or the air, or both, are introduced to chamber tangentially, and air and liquid are worked therein under conditions of high shear. Fine, well-atomized mist discharges from central orifice from chamber. Orifice may be aimed axially or angularly to axis of container.

Squeeze-bottle-type spray dispenser

Plastic squeeze bottle is provided with discharge tube as well as down tube extending from above the powder level to the lower end of the discharge tube. Baffle is disposed at the lower end of the two tubes. During dispensing, squeeze of the bottle increases air pressure above the powder which drives air down through the powder and drives air down down tube to fluidize powder on the baffle from whence it moves upward through discharge tube to discharge.

Pump for spray dispenser has spring-pressed annular piston serving as an accumulator and controlling flow through the pump discharge so that no discharge passes unless and until pressure within the pump housing is sufficiently high.
