A joystick device is provided that is in electronic communication with a remotely located main electronic controller used to control heavy machinery and the like. The joystick device includes a base assembly having a first microprocessor in electronic communication with the main electronic controller. The joystick device also includes a grip assembly pivotally connected to the base assembly. The grip assembly includes a plurality of input buttons and a second microprocessor in electronic communication with the first microprocessor. The joystick device further includes sensing elements that detect movement of the joystick device.

A method of yielding the average current in a PWM driven coil for an electrohydraulic valve. The method includes transmitting a feedback signal into a Finite Impulse Response filter to take multiple signal samples in order to calculate and average value of current within one cycle. This average value is transmitted to an algorithm that generates a pulse width signal that drives the coil of the electrohydraulic valve in the next system cycle.

Method of determining average current in a PWM drive

A circuit that provides for a high side NFET gate driver that uses a circuit using only common capacitors, diodes, resistors, and transistors to create a high side NFET gate driver. The system is operated so that when there is a high input the NFET will turn off and when there is a low input the NFET will turn on.

A method for balancing the flux density of a permanent magnet includes sensing flux density in a permanent magnet and if unbalanced relative to a physical center, adjusting the cross-sectional area and shape of the magnet by removing magnetic material from the magnetic pole with the stronger magnetic flux density. This method is repeated until the magnetic flux density is balanced between the opposite poles of the permanent magnet relative to the physical center.

A current measuring circuit for a PWM driver. The current measuring device measures the high side and low side currents of a PWM driver circuit before the currents reach the driver. A first measuring circuit measures the high side of the circuit and a second measuring circuit measures the low side of the circuit. The second measuring circuit also receives a signal from the first measuring circuit containing the current measurement measured by the first circuit and the second circuit then adds this current to the second circuit current and transmits a signal of the summed currents to a receiving device.

Current measuring circuit for a PWM driver and method of using the same

A current sampling half-bridge output driver capable of driving a wide range of loads using an accurate selection of current sensing resistors. Pluralities of stages are connected in series with the current sensing resistors from each stage connected in series. A range selector selects the stage appropriate for each current load. The reference resistors for a selected stage includes the current sensing resistor associated with that stage added in series to all current sensing resistors electrically connected between the selected stage and the load. The disclosed circuit avoids switching resistors in and out of the circuit and thereby increases the accuracy of the sensing resistor circuit.

Multi-range current sampling half-bridge output driver

A joystick mechanism includes a housing, a substantially spherical magnetic ball rotatably mounted on the housing, a joystick shaft attached to the magnetic ball, and a pair of magnetic effect sensors operatively positioned adjacent the magnetic ball. The sensors, which are positioned along the x and y axes, are aimed perpendicular to each other and the z axis. Thereby, movement of the joystick and the ball causes a change in the magnetic field which is measured and indicated by the sensors.

A speed sensor for sensing the speed and direction of a hydrostatic motor or pump measures the speed, monitors an operator input, processes this information and generates a high power output to drive a solenoid valve or electrical displacement control. The sensor is housed in a single package mounted directly on the hydrostatic motor or pump. The function of the sensor can be easily modified with software changes.
