Methods and apparatus for verifying operability of a neurophysiological-based control system include generating a test stimulus that will result in a predetermined neurophysiological response in a user. Neurophysiological brain activity signals obtained from the user in response to the test stimulus are processed to generate a test neurophysiological response. The test neurophysiological response and a predetermined neurophysiological response are compared to determine if the neurophysiological-based control system is operating properly.

Aircraft electric taxi system diagnostic and prognostic evaluation system and method

Systems and apparatus are provided for head-mountable cockpit displays for providing information related to an aircraft system to a user. A cockpit display system comprises an eyeglass frame adapted for wearing on the head of the user. The eyeglass frame has a perimeter defining a field of view. A display element is mechanically coupled to the eyeglass frame and aligned with a bottom portion of the field of view. Display electronics are coupled to the display element, and an avionics system is coupled to the display electronics. The display electronics are configured to render an image of a cockpit instrument panel associated with the avionics system on the display element.

Head-mountable cockpit display system

Embodiments described herein provide for a system for verifying integrity of files uplinked to a remote vehicle. The system is configured to receive a first message authentication code (MAC) for the uplinked file, a first acknowledgement MAC for the MAC, and a first cyclic redundancy check (CRC) for the first MAC and the acknowledgement MAC. The system is also configured to compute a second MAC from the uplinked file, a second acknowledgement MAC from the second MAC and a second CRC from the second MAC and second acknowledgement MAC. Integrity of the uplinked file is verified by comparing the first CRC with the second CRC. If integrity of the uplinked file is confirmed, the uplinked file is accepted. If integrity of the uplinked file is not confirmed, the uplinked file is rejected.

Methods and systems for securely uploading files onto aircraft

An electric taxi predictive performance system may provide a predicted performance for an electric based taxi system (eTaxi) based on environmental information related to a vehicle. In some embodiments, the vehicle may be an aircraft using eTaxi systems to move around an airport runway system. The electric predictive taxi performance system may provide real-time displayed data to help pilots evaluate eTaxi capabilities of the aircraft as conditions change.

Methods and apparatus are provided for securing the transfer of data over the internet from malicious interference. The apparatus comprises a computing device and a data storage device in operable communication with the computing device. The apparatus also includes a set of high assurance security instructions resident on the data storage device and executing within the computing device and at least one input/output interface. The method comprises receiving data via a first communication interface and storing the data in a memory device and initiating an unsecured data indication. The method also provides for receiving an authentication code via the first communication interface and decoding the authentication code and determining the authenticity of the data. If the authentication code fails to indicate authenticity then the data is deleted. If the authentication code indicates authenticity, then the data is transferred to a destination device via a second communication interface.

A ground remote control system for an aircraft includes a security pairing device configured to establish a first secure communication link and protocol between a remote control device and a ground remote control system controller; and establish a second secure communication link and protocol, using the first communication link and protocol between the remote control device and the ground remote control system controller. The ground remote control system controller is configured to receive drive command signals, brake command signals, steering command signals, and power command signals, from the remote control device and generate the electronic drive commands, the electronic brake commands, the electronic steering commands, and the electronic power commands.

A gesture recognition system and method verifies the operability of the gesture system by providing a test target that is configured to generate a test stimulus that is recognizable by the gesture recognition system. The test stimulus from the test target is received and processed in the gesture recognition system to generate a test response. The processor verifies that the test response corresponds to the test stimulus.

A method of displaying aircraft operating and position information with an electronic display unit comprises determining a position of a first aircraft at an airport; determining an optimum speed range of the first aircraft; determining a first aircraft speed of the first aircraft; displaying on a screen of the display unit a map of at least part of the airport; displaying a first aircraft symbol on the map, the first aircraft symbol displayed in a position on the map indicative of position of the first aircraft; and displaying an optimum speed range symbol having a lower bound end and a higher bound end in a position on the map such that the first aircraft symbol is between the lower bound end and the higher bound end when the first aircraft speed is within the optimum speed range.

An aircraft taxi control system may include a motor connected to drive a landing gear wheel of the aircraft. A motor controller may be connected to control speed of the motor. The system may also include an aircraft taxi route database, an aircraft position determination unit; an aircraft performance database and a processor configured to a) integrate signals from the aircraft taxi route database, the aircraft position determination unit and aircraft performance database, and b) produce a motor deceleration signal to the motor controller when the aircraft arrives at a predetermined distance from a predetermined location so that the aircraft arrives at the location traveling at a desired speed.

An environmental impact measurement system for an aircraft includes a one-way data interface and a processing system. The one-way data interface is adapted to continuously receive and transmit aircraft data and flight plan data. The processing system is in operable communication with the one-way data interface to receive the aircraft data and the flight plan data transmitted therefrom. The processing system is configured, upon receipt of the aircraft data and the flight plan data, to generate at least data representative of real-time environmental impact of the aircraft, and recommendations for improving the real-time environmental impact of the aircraft.

A touch screen system is provided herein for use with a commanded system requiring high integrity. The touch screen system includes, but is not limited to, a display screen configured to present information to an operator. A sensor array is arranged proximate the display screen to detect a touch on the display screen and to generate a set of touch position coordinates corresponding to a location of the touch. A processor is operatively coupled to the display screen and is configured to command the display screen to arrange a plurality of touch target images such one of the touch target images is a high integrity touch target image. A first audio stream is comprised of a plurality of words, upon which a plurality of independent voice-to-text conversions are performed. If it is determined that at least one of the plurality of independent voice-to-text conversions is error free, a text-to-voice conversion of the at least one error-free voice-to-text conversion is performed to create a second audio stream.

A display system for controlling a selector symbol within an image includes, but is not limited to, a display screen that is configured to detect a touch of an operator on a surface of the display screen and that is further configured to display a three-dimensional image. The display system further includes a processor that is operatively coupled to the touch screen. The processor is configured to command the display screen to display a three-dimensional selector symbol within the three-dimensional image, and to command the display screen to move the selector symbol within the three-dimensional image in a manner that corresponds with the touch of the operator.
