The beverage appliance of the present invention includes a venturi having a steam inlet and a milk inlet. The steam inlet and milk inlet each include a solenoid valve configurable between an open state and a closed state. The solenoid valves are electrically coupled to a processor and are controllable through first and second switches. In operation, upon activation of the first switch, the solenoid valves are controlled to their open states to deliver milk and steam to the venturi to produce frothed milk. When a desired amount of frothed milk has been dispensed, the user deactivates the first switch and the processor controls only the milk inlet solenoid valve to its closed state. The steam inlet solenoid valve remains in its open state for a predetermined amount of time such that a burst of steam only is forced through the venturi and distribution lines to purge them of milk.

The coffee maker of the present invention includes a housing, a water reservoir disposed in the housing and a shower head in fluid communication with the water reservoir. The coffee maker also include a first heating element for heating water from the water reservoir and being controllable between and ON state and an OFF state, and a second heating element located downstream from the first heating element and being controllable between an ON state and an OFF state. The first and second heating elements are operable in at least a first mode and a second mode, the second mode being different from the first mode.

A method brewing a beverage or coffee, and an associated system, include a water reservoir having a fixed capacity, an electric pump, a steel vessel with an inlet and an outlet for water and with a heater for heating the water, a container for holding coffee grounds having a removable insert for selectively optimizing coffee strength including but not limited to optimizing for amount of coffee brewed, and an optional heater to keep brewed coffee at a desired temperature until dispensed.

Methods and systems for brewing variable amounts of coffee

A garment drying apparatus includes a housing forming a base. A heater is mounted in the base for warming ambient air drawn into the base via a fan through openings formed in the base. A pair of air ducting walls are mounted in the base to direct a portion of the warm air in a first flow path and the remaining portion of the warm air in a second flow path. The flow paths are disposed in substantially diametrically opposed directions within the base. The housing further includes a top wall for covering the base. The top wall includes vent openings aligned with distal ends of the first and second flow paths. Garment support members are mounted on the top surface of the top wall and are pivotable between a first position where support is aligned substantially horizontally in a stowed position on the top wall and a second position where the support is substantially upright relative to the top wall. Each of the supports include vent openings alignable with the vent openings in the top wall when the supports are in their upright positions. Each of the supports have a wall alignable with the vent openings in the top wall when the supports are in the stowed position to close air flow through the top wall vent openings.
