Systems, methods, and devices for isolating a misbehaving accelerator circuit, such as an accelerator function unit or an accelerated function context, are provided. An integrated circuit may include a region that includes an accelerator circuit. When the accelerator circuit issues a request, another region of the integrated circuit or a processor connected to the integrated circuit may determine whether there is a misbehavior associated with the request and, in response to determining that there is a misbehavior associated with the request, may perform a misbehavior response to mitigate a negative impact of the misbehavior of the accelerator circuit.

The circuitry is also to produce, as a function of the initial availability data, a connectivity matrix indicative of the physical communication paths and a logical communication path defined by one or more of the physical communication paths between a kernel of the present accelerator device and a target accelerator device kernel. Additionally, the circuitry is to obtain updated availability data indicative of a subsequent availability of each accelerator device kernel and update, as a function of the updated availability data, the connectivity matrix to modify the logical communication path.

A method of allowing independent call processing resources to work together in a call processing system by specifying conditions/action pairs. The technique arms specified resources to issue particular commands upon detection of the particular conditions. When the condition occurs, the armed resource issues the command and an acting resource acts upon the command. The application program no longer need be involved in mediating between resources.

Run time control in a call processing system

A Group Exchange Port (GXP) is disclosed which provides an organized technique for passing control of live objects (e.g.; a telephone call, a robotic arm, flying aircraft, etc.) from a first application operating on and processing the object to a second such application. In accordance with the invention, a Group Exchange Port is provided where buyer applications register there willingness to accept control of the system and sellers may 'advertise' an object for sale. When a suitable buyer (i.e.; one that has the proper resources for servicing and controlling the active system) is found, control of the object is passed from the seller to the buyer. Importantly, the GXP requires that control of the object always be maintained by one and only one application, that control not be passed to an application which cannot properly service and/or control the system, and that an application presently controlling the system does not relinquish such control until a new application accepts such control. The technique allows loosely coupled applications to work with the same object.

Group exchange port (GXP)

Apparatus for detecting a single-frequency signal having a predetermined frequency in an analog signal includes means for converting the analog signal to a differentially encoded digital signal and detection means for detecting a single-frequency signal having the predetermined frequency from the differentially encoded digital signal. In a preferred embodiment, the detection means includes: means for detecting one cycle of the analog signal by detecting a signal maximum followed by detecting a signal minimum which is followed, in turn, by detecting another signal maximum; means for determining the length of the cycle, for determining whether the length is within predetermined bounds, and for keeping a count of such occurrences; and means for determining whether the count has reached a predetermined amount, whereby a single-frequency signal having the predetermined frequency has been detected.
