A dual-mode turret system includes a turret base operable by a motor drive of the turret system, a cylindrical sleeve secured to the turret base, a mounting cylinder disposed in the cylindrical sleeve, and a frame secured to the mounting cylinder, wherein the frame is adapted to hold a weapon. The dual-mode turret system also includes a locking apparatus that when engaged prevents the mounting cylinder from rotating independently of the cylindrical sleeve, a controller, and an input device coupled to the controller. Rotation of the frame is manually adjustable when the locking apparatus is disengaged, and the rotation of the frame is adjusted by the controller in response to commands received from the input device when the locking apparatus is engaged.

A wall control unit for a movable barrier operator sends baseband signals over a wire connection to a head unit of a movable barrier operator to command the movable barrier to perform barrier operator functions. The wall control unit has a wall control unit port for connection to the wire connection. A first switch sends a barrier command signal to the head unit commanding the head unit to open or close a movable barrier. A second switch commands the head unit to provide energization to a light source. An infrared detector causes a command signal to be sent to the head unit to control the illumination state of the light source.

A bracket which can be secured to a track for a garage door for mounting an IR receiver/sender to the track and need not be screwed to the framing around the door opening or bolted into the garage floor includes a main web portion with a right angle lip portion attached at one side and a serpentine-shaped spring member attached adjacent to the other side of the web and bent down so as to face the opposite lip member. An IR mounting extension member extends from the side of the web with the spring member with the IR mounting member extending at right angles to the web and in a direction opposite from the spring member and lip member. Retention of the bracket to the track is achieved by the effect of spring loading of the bracket on the exterior of the track, which is snap fit between the serpentine member and the lip portion.

A variable damping shock absorber is disclosed. The shock absorber has a two-wire electrical lead extending into the piston rod. The electrical energy provided by the lead drives a drive motor, which rotates in alternating directions depending on the setting of an internal switch that switches upon occurrence of voltage spike, which occurs when the motor has driven an internal rotatable valve as far as the valve can go within the confines of rotation permitted by the valving. The drive motor then drives an internal valve between an open and closed position, which in turn opens and increases, or closes or reduces, a path in fluid flow from one cavity to another as the piston moves within the shock absorber.

A garage door operator for moving a garage door between open and closed posiitons includes a head unit for being held by a support structure positioned remote from the door with the head unit having a motor and a drive wheel with spaced teeth on its periphery for being driven by the motor. The operator also includes an elongate rail having a first end which is held by a support structure disposed adjacent and above the door with the rail including a pulley located adjacent the first end. The rail also includes a second end for being held adjacent to and in alignment with the drive wheel. The operator also includes a drive belt assembly for training about the drive wheel and the pulley and for being supported by the rail. The belt assembly includes a length of a plastic belt with teeth on one surface thereof matching the teeth on the drive wheel. The belt further assembly further includes a trolley for connection to the garage door and a first connector for joining one of the plastic belt to one end of the trolley. The connector includes a belt clip including a pair of spaced, aligned side walls with one side wall having an inside surface with undulations corresponding to the teeth of the plastic belt. The connector further includes a clip holder deformable from an as-formed position in which the holder can receive the side walls flanking the belt with the belt teeth aligned with the undulations, to a deformed position in which the holder firmly holds the side walls with the belt positioned therebetween.

A vehicular shock absorber is disclosed and includes a two-piece piston head, one piece being the mirror image of the other, mated by a pin. The piston head defines a series of passages. Identical valve assemblies are positioned in the passages so as to allow passage, under pressure, of hydraulic fluid in both directions between a compression chamber and a recoil chamber. Each valve assembly includes a spring clip, partially encompassing the valve bias spring so as to limit potentially damaging compression thereof. The shock absorber further includes a compression head assembly, providing fluid communication between the compression chamber, and a reservoir chamber, and a cylinder head assembly which, in part, seals about and maintains the piston rod.

A coupling of the type including a flexible tube, an interiorly threaded nut member apertured to receive the tube, a cooperating exteriorly threaded nipple member, a pair of O-ring seals, and a separate tube-gripping member. The tube-gripping member includes an annular wall portion having an annular O-ring engaging end surface and a plurality of annularly spaced gripping finger portions extending axially from the end of the annular portion opposite from the annular O-ring engaging end surface. The finger portions include end surfaces engaging an interior end wall surface of the nut member, exterior segmental frustoconical surfaces converging in a direction away from the end wall engaging end surfaces engaged with a nipple member interior frustoconical surface and interior tube-engaging surfaces engaging the exterior periphery of the flexible tube and deflecting the engaged portions thereof radially inwardly a predetermined extent determined by the interengagement of a nipple member annular stop surface with a cooperating annular stop surface of the nut member. The pair of O-ring seals provides two peripheral sealing areas in series between an interior surface of the nipple member and an exterior surface of the tube.
