An ergonomic, arm-positioning pillow includes an ornamental design including an upper portion having a top surface for supporting the head of a sleeper and a bottom portion having a lower surface for supporting the arm-positioning pillow and having a first space extending at an oblique angle from a first space located along the lower surface for receiving an arm therein and supporting the sleeper to position the arm for managing the amount of pressure applied to the arm, and a second space located in the lower surface for receiving a second arm or for receiving the second arm to provide for ambidextrous use of the arm-positioning pillow and to obtain improved sleep performance in the form of reduced snoring and sleep apnea.

The combination of a squeezable bottle containing an ophthalmic fluid and a detachable applicator apparatus for efficiently spraying the ophthalmic fluid to an eye. The applicator apparatus includes a body having an inlet end portion for attaching the applicator apparatus to the bottle and an outlet end portion for centering the applicator apparatus on the eye, a circular outer planar flange portion extending outwardly in covering relationship from said body circular outlet portion to limit the intrusion of the outlet end portion into the bony orbital ocular opening which surrounds the eye; and a soft resilient seal for sealing a nozzle when the applicator apparatus is not used. The method comprises the steps of removing a cap from a storage bottle; discarding the cap, adding a nozzle to an outlet of the storage bottle, attaching an applicator to the storage bottle; opening an eyelid to spray a small portion of the ophthalmic fluid from the storage bottle on to the eye; inserting a cylindrical outlet end of the applicator body into the bony orbital ocular opening which surrounds the person's eye to center the discharge nozzle on the eye; squeezing the storage bottle to spray a small portion of the ophthalmic fluid on the eye; and attaching a cap to the applicator to seal the storage bottle and prevent the contamination of the storage bottle.

Ophthalmic fluid applicator and method

A carrier mounted on a cart for transporting a bag or a sack containing loose or granular materials. The carrier is comprised of a pair of jaws having gripping surfaces for retaining an upper portion of a bag or sack and a handle for carrying the bag or sack in a slightly elevated position or by dragging on a surface. In a first aspect of the invention, the gripping surfaces are formed by shearing and bending a plurality of triangular tabs in metal strips which are attached to the jaws. In a second aspect of the invention, the carrier is attached to a 2-wheel cart in a manner which allows the carrier to be used in combination with the cart or detached and used independently.

A soft resilient comfort cushion and method for promoting the use of a safety belt by a pregnant woman, said comfort cushion comprising: a resilient soft elongated cushion having tapered end portions, a length which is sufficient to span a groin region of said pregnant woman below a fetal abdominal bulge, a width which is near or about the width of said safety belt and a thickness which is sufficient to prevent discomfort to a pregnant woman by preventing the pressure and rubbing of the safety belt on the groin and lower abdominal regions of the pregnant woman. In a first embodiment of the invention, the soft resilient cushion has a cellular polymer core, a cover for enclosing the core and a pair of straps for attaching the comfort cushion to a restraint system belt. In a second embodiment, the comfort cushion is an inflatable cushion with a pair of straps for attaching the comfort cushion to a restraint system belt. In a third embodiment, the comfort cushion is an integral part of a restraint system belt.

A method for dispensing a household liquid, such as soap, shampoo, dish washing detergent and bath oil through an outlet of a household water system. The liquid dispensing system comprises a household water system having an outlet, a storage unit for storing at least one liquid operatively connected to the household water system, and a control for connecting and disconnecting the storage unit to the household water system. In a first aspect of the invention the liquid is introduced into the household water system by a venturi. In a second aspect of the invention, the storage unit is positioned above an outlet of the household water system and is introduced by gravity. The control is normally biased to an 'off' position. This invention can be utilized for showers, bathtubs, laundry tubs and sinks. The method is comprised of the steps of dispensing the liquid through the household water system.

Method for dispensing household liquids

A bathtub liquid dispensing system for dispensing a mixture of water and a household liquid, such as soap, shampoo and bath oil through an outlet such as a faucet of a bathtub. The bathtub liquid dispensing system comprises a bathtub having an outlet, a storage unit for storing at least one household liquid operatively connected to a bathtub water supply, and a control for connecting and disconnecting the storage unit from the bathtub water supply. In a first aspect of the invention the liquid is introduced into the bathtub water system by a venturi. In a second aspect of the invention, the storage unit is positioned above the bathtub and is introduced by gravity. The control is normally biased to an 'off' position.

Bathtub liquid dispensing system

A barbecue skewer with a protector/extractor for extracting food from the skewer and preventing injuries and contamination of the skewer. The protector/guard is a generally cylindrical member which is slidably mounted on a shank of the skewer and is selectively movable for a position of covering relationship with a pointed end portion of the shank of the skewer to a position of uncovering relationship with the pointed end portion of the shank of the skewer. In a first embodiment, the protector/extractor is retained in the positions of covering and uncovering relationship by the attraction of a permanent magnet and ferromagnetic members. In a second embodiment the protector/extractor is retained in the positions of covering and uncovering relationship with a leaf spring mounted on the protector/retractor. In a third embodiment the protector/extractor is retained in the positions of covering and uncovering relationship by the engagements of a spring biased ball in the protector/extractor and grooves in a shank of the skewer.

Barbecue skewer and method

A method for preventing a spread of diseases, promoting better breathing, improving comfort and reducing fatigue. The method utilizes a face mask and a noseform of the type disclosed in U.S. Pat. No. 5,976,173, which is incorporated herein by reference, In a first embodiment, the noseform is an integral part of a mask by forming, adhesion or heat bonding. In a second embodiment, the noseform is added to the mask prior to placing the mask in service with a usual method such as adhesion. In the first embodiment, the noseform is initially mounted on a person's nose by adhesively attaching the noseform to a lower portion of the nose, sliding the noseform upwardly toward the person's forehead and glabella and attaching an upper portion of the noseform to a fixed portion of the nose just below the glabella. The effect of this procedure is to shorten the person's airway and dilate the person's nasal passages. In the second embodiment, the noseform is initially mounted on a mask, followed by the steps of adhesively attaching the noseform to a lower portion of the nose, sliding the noseform upwardly toward the person's forehead and glabella and attaching an upper portion of the noseform to a fixed portion of the nose just below the glabella.
