A synergistic microbiocide comprising a member selected from the group consisting of (1) an N-alkyl (C.sub.8 -C.sub.30) dimethylbenzylammonium halide and (2) a polycondensation product of acrolein/formaldehyde in a molar ratio of 1:10-10:1 in combination with (3) a bicyclic polyoxymethylene-oxaazolidine having the formula: ##STR1## in which each R represents hydrogen, an alkyl of 1-6 carbons, phenyl, halophenyl or --(CH.sub.2 O).sub.m CH.sub.2 OH in which m is 0-2 and n is 0-4, the ratio of (1) or (2) to (3) being 1:10-10:1 by weight.

Synthetic sizes for use on yarns in water jet looms are prepared by copolymerizing methacrylic acid with from about 3% by weight to about 15% by weight of acrylic acid or vinylethoxytetraethylene glycol as the comonomer. These sizes are useful as nylon warp sizes in water jet looms. They have the desired adhesion to nylon and water resistance plus non-adhesion to steel parts on the loom.
