A multi-layer product for improving the look of human skin by the steps of: apply to the skin a first layer that is a skin care composition; and applying to, and on top of, the first layer, a powder layer. The powder layer has from about 10% to about 30%, by weight of the powder layer, of substantially spherical silicone elastomer particles. The powder layer is an aqueous based composition that is an oil-in-water emulsion comprising a non-volatile oil present in a concentration level such that the weight ratio of non-volatile oil to particulate material is from about 1:10 to about 3:2. At least one of, or both the first layer and the powder layer have a contrast ratio of less than about 20.

Multi-step product for improving the appearance and feel of human skin

Personal care compositions that include a stable O/W emulsion, a stable retinoid, an oil, a fatty alcohol, and an emulsifier and methods of using such compositions to regulate a condition of mammalian keratinous tissue. By combining the oil and retinoid at a particular ratio in the personal care composition, the stability of the retinoid can be improved.

Stable personal care compositions containing a retinoid

A finisher composition in the form of an oil-in-water emulsion. The continuous aqueous phase of the emulsion is from about 20 to 85 wt % of water. The dispersed oil phase of the emulsion includes a non-volatile oil, which is at least 50% by weight of a liquid UV agent. The composition also includes from about 10 to 25 wt % of substantially spherical starch particles, silicone elastomer particles, or a combination of these. The particles have a particle size of from about 2 to 40 microns. The weight ratio of the non-volatile oil to the particles is from about 1:10 to about 1:1. The composition is substantially free of glycerin and, optionally, includes from about 1 to 20 wt % of a volatile oil.

At least one of, or both the first layer and the powder layer have a contrast ratio of less than about 20.

A finisher composition that provides improved look and feel benefits to an underlying skin care product. The finisher composition is an oil-in-water emulsion that includes from 10 to 25 wt % of substantially spherical starch particles having a mean particle size of from 5 to 30 microns. The oil phase of the finisher includes a non-volatile oil present at an amount to provide a weight ratio of non-volatile oil to starch particles of from 1:10 to 3:2. The aqueous phase of the finisher includes from 20 to 85 wt % of water.

A shampoo composition including (a) a silicone polymer including (i) one or more quaternary groups; (ii) at least one silicone block comprising greater than 200 siloxane units; (iii) at least one polyalkylene oxide structural unit; and (iv) at least one terminal ester group, and (b) a detersive surfactant. The silicone polymer has a viscosity of up to 100,000 mPa&#xb7;s. The silicone polymer is a pre-emulsified dispersion with a particle size of less than about 1 micron.

The present application relates to organosilicones and compositions such as consumer products comprising such organosilicones, as well as processes for making and using such organosilicones and such compositions. Such compositions comprising such organosilicones are easier to formulate, and provide more economical and superior care benefits when compared to current silicone containing compositions.
