The presently disclosed embodiments are directed to imaging members useful in electrostatography. More particularly, the embodiments pertain to an improved development systems for electrophotographic imaging and printing apparatuses and machines in which ghosting print defects are reduced, and more particularly, is directed to a method for reducing positive ghosting in such systems.

System and methods for reducing ghosting

A single-pass bypass printing machine including: (a) a moveable photoreceptor belt for moving through an imaging path; (b) apparatus for supplying and feeding print media along a main media path and a bypass media path; (c) a first stage including at least three imaging subassemblies for forming a first color toner image on the photoreceptor; (d) a first transfer station for transferring the first color toner image onto the print media; (e) apparatus for diverting the print media from the main media path onto the bypass media path; (f) a second stage including at least one marking engine for forming a second color toner image on the photoreceptor; (g) apparatus for moving the print media from the bypass media path back into the main media path; and (h) a second transfer station for transferring the second color toner image onto the print media, forming a desired multi-color toner image on the print media.

Single-pass bypass printing method and apparatus

A carrier composition having magnetite with a diameter of from about 80 microns to about 150 microns, and wherein the carrier has a conductivity of from about 10to about 10(ohms-cm)and a carrier breakdown voltage of from about 20 to about 200 volts, and a developer composition with toner and this carrier composition, and also including a developer housing apparatus and an electrostatographic apparatus comprising the developer housing apparatus.

Carrier and developer compositions

An electrostatographic toner image reproduction machine is provided for producing toner reproductions of original images. The reproduction machine includes a frame; a movable image bearing member mounted to and having a path of movement within the frame; and electrostatographic process devices mounted for forming a toner image, transferring and fusing the toner image onto a copy sheet; and at least one status parameter defining a quality condition of the formed, transferred and fused toner images. The reproduction machine also includes measuring devices for measuring the at least one status parameter; at least first and second different machine speeds at which to operate the machine; and a machine controller connected to the measuring devices for automatically changing the machine speed in response to each of the at least one status parameter so as to ensure continued production of high quality toner images. The machine controller is programmed to read a Start-Of-Copy (SOCS) status of the at least one status parameter; a rate of change (ROC) of the at least one status parameter; an acceptable Normal End-Of-Copy value range (NEOCVR) of the at least one status parameter; and a Default machine speed (DMS) of the machine. The machine controller is also programmed to measure the at least one status parameter and calculate a Predicted End-Of-Copy Value (PEOCV) of the at least one status parameter given the DMS of the machine, to compare the PEOCV with the NEOCVR, and to automatically change the Default machine speed (DMS) of the machine to an Adjusted Machine speed (AMS) in order for the PEOCV of the at least one status parameter, given the AMS, to be within the acceptable NEOCVR, thereby ensuring continued production of high quality toner images.
