Novel security clearance delivery assistance system for healthcare providers working in hospitals nationwide that improves patient care by reducing or eliminating the amount of time needlessly wasted by manually presenting security clearance smart cards to the security reader for authentication while transporting patients across hospitals. In life or death situations, which occur routinely in hospitals, quick delivery of patients to destinations such as the operating room could mean life or death. A health care professional's ability to save lives may depend in part on their ability to quickly transport patients through secured areas, which currently require the transporter to stop and authenticate at each doorway. With the likelihood of survival decreasing exponentially as time passes, reducing or eliminating interruptions during transportation will enable healthcare providers more time to perform life saving procedures and dramatically increase the likelihood of survival.

Apparatus, system and method for quick transport of hospital beds or ambulance gurneys through secured areas

A drying apparatus includes a housing, a tubular arm, a telescoping arm and a fan. The tubular arm is attached to the housing at a portion between proximal and distal ends. Also, the tubular arm is able to rotate tangential to the housing. The tubular arm includes a proximal end and a distal end and is attached to the housing at a portion between the proximal and distal ends. The telescoping arm is attached to the tubular arm and able to slide between an open and closed position. The telescoping arm includes an aperture that is open in the open position and covered in the closed position. The fan encased within the housing and arranged to direct airflow through the tubular arm and out the aperture when the telescoping arm is in the open position. The air flow is restricted when the telescoping arm is in the closed position.

Multiuse dryer and method of drying multiple items

A glove having a heat insulating barrier is disclosed. The heat insulating barrier is removably inserted into a zippered pocket or a weblike pouch, the pocket or pouch being positioned proximate the back of a user's hand. the heat insulating barrier acts to selectively reduce heat conduction from the back side of the hand, thereby allowing the user's hand or hands to remain warm in cold environments. The ability to stack a varying number of heat insulating layers in the pouch or pocket further allows the user to selectively control the warmth of the hand as the ambient temperature fluctuates during use. The zippered pocket or weblike pouch can have first and second opening to permit increased cooling through the back portion of the glove.

A glove having a heat insulating barrier is disclosed. Neck protector

A wrap is configured for positioning at different sites including the ankle, calf, knee, thigh, lower arm, elbow, upper arm, neck, shoulder and torso including the lower back. The wrap is formed from laminated closed-cell neoprene so that it is elastically deformable. The wrap has a therapy section with a pocket sized to receive a gel pack that can be heated or cooled to apply the desired thermal therapy. Long connecting ears extend outwardly near the top of the therapy section and short connecting ears extend outwardly near the bottom. One ear of the long connecting ears and one ear of the short connecting ears has the hook portion of a hook and pile type connector with the material laminated to the neoprene selected to function as the pile portion of a hook and pile type connector. A strap also formed from closed-cell neoprene has a material laminated to function as the pile portion and has a hook portion at one end. The strap is attached to the long ears to extend as needed so that the wrap may be positioned about the shoulder, torso and neck of the user.

An article of clothing includes a mask member with a head member joined together to define an opening that registers with the eyes. The mask member is formed of neoprene with a fleece material laminated to the interior thereof. The head member is formed of a fleece material and has a scarf portion extending below the head to surround the neck area of the user.

Head covering

An article of clothing includes a mask member and a scarf member joined together. The mask is formed of a closed-cell neoprene with a fleece interior lining and a Lycra.TM. exterior surface. A scarf member is secured to the lower edge of the mask member to extend rearwardly about the head of the user and is made of a fleece material. The article of clothing is held in place about the head and neck of the user by VELCRO.TM. fasteners.

An insulating stocking is formed from two pieces of closed-cell neoprene. Each piece is joined to itself along a longitudinal seam; and the pieces are joined to each other along a lateral seam intersecting the longitudinal seams. Two separated 3-way intersections reduce the size and increase the seam strength at the junctures. The closed-cell neoprene has spaced pores formed therethrough and is covered on both surfaces with a moisture permeable fabric to be reversible.

Insulated stocking

A mask has a face member sized and shaped to fit about the face. It extends from an upper edge proximate the bridge of the nose and eye socket areas downward to the junction of the jaw with the neck area. The mask has ear sections which extend over the ears and three coacting Velcro sections spaced apart to fasten the mask at the back of the head of the user.

Cold weather mask

An insulated ski glove having an outer shell formed to surround the hand is disclosed. A portion of the outer shell is fabricated from a material which is permeable to water vapor and impermeable to liquid water. The glove is lined with a material having low thermal conductivity, a portion of which is permeable to moisture.

Insulated glove

A mask member is made from a thin, rubber, cloth-like material. The mask member is sized and shaped to fit about the face to extend rearward from the face to about the left and right ear areas and to extend in length from an upper edge to a lower edge. The upper edge extends along a line between the cheekbone area below the temples, along the lower part of the eye sockets, contouredly over the bridge of the nose. The mask member is unitarily formed with a nose piece contoured to fit over the nose. The nose piece together with the face mask are shaped to form a breathing aperture for the nostrils. A seam extends from below the nose piece downward to act as a front edge. The seam extends convexly from below the nose to the chin area to form a pocket for the lips and air, and arcuately inward under the chin to the lower edge. The seam selectively forms a channel in communication with the pocket. Aperture means are formed in the mask member proximate the mouth for breathing and speech. Securing means are adapted to the mask member to secure the mask in place.
