Track transformations of mature digital twins from time of creation to decommissioning of the physical asset. As physical assets evolve, changes, repairs, maintenance and services relevant to the physical assets originally provided, can be applied or deemed inapplicable in the current state. Mature digital twins are leveraged to identify proposed changes to physical assets and compare original digital twins of the base asset to determine whether deviations over time render the proposed changes irrelevant. Irrelevant changes, due to deviations from the original digital twin, are further analyzed to determine whether the irrelevancy is due to a previous action performed on the physical asset and update to the mature digital twin. Previous updates to physical assets, reflected in the mature digital twin, can be eligible for rebates and incentives where the asset owners performed actions that render proposed updates irrelevant, while relevant changes are approved and permeated to mature digital twins.

A computer system controls access to data. A request is received from an entity to access data comprising a primary data object corresponding to a physical item. One or more secondary data objects included in the primary data object are identified, wherein the one or more secondary data objects correspond to physical components of the physical item. Access requirements for the primary data object and the one or more secondary data objects are determined. In response to determining that the access requirements are satisfied by the entity, the entity is granted access to the data comprising the primary data object and the one or more secondary data objects. Embodiments of the present invention further include a method and program product for controlling access to data in substantially the same manner described above.

A digital twin is created, tracked, and modified throughout the physical asset's lifetime using a digital registry having a data record including a unique identifier (optionally encrypted) and a storage device location information for the digital twin. A physical tag is coupled to the physical asset and scanned for read and write operations from and to the digital twin. The digital twin can move to a new storage device across a cloud environment and the registry maintains consistent access.

The present invention may include assigning a technician to a job associated with the physical asset. The present invention may then include associating the digital twin with the physical asset. The present invention may also include matching one or more digital twin resources from a digital twin repository. The present invention may then include identifying a piece of relevant data from the matched one or more digital twin resources to the job associated with the physical asset. The present invention may further include identifying the one or more appropriate articles for the assigned technician to utilize to perform the job associated with the physical asset from the identified piece of relevant data.

Events are detected and workflows are generated based on information in the digital representations and one or more digital libraries having resources for the digital representations.

The present invention may further include automatically writing the new block associated with the addressed IoT event on the blockchain structure based on the updated digital twin associated with the physical asset.

A method, computer system, and a computer program product for qualifying an Internet of Things (IoT) event as a major event is provided. The present invention may include detecting the IoT event by utilizing one or more IoT sensors associated with a physical asset. The present invention may then include comparing the detected IoT event with one or more owner preferences associated the physical asset. The present invention may further include qualifying the compared IoT event as a major event based on the detected IoT event matching the one or more owner preferences.

A computer-implemented system and method for searching comprises handling a digital twin (DT) component corresponding to a physical component. The DT component comprises an access attribute (DTAA) that controls access to the DT component, and other attributes of the DT component. The method further comprises responsive to a trigger, determining a factor value based on a plurality of factors associated with the DT. Responsive to the factor value exceeding a factor value threshold, the method comprises modifying the DTAA to permit access to the DT by a user not previously having access.
