A vacuum cleaner apparatus having a fan housing defining a plurality of corner portions and a wall structure extending across the housing and defining with the housing corner portions flow restricting air flow passages for conducting air from the fan impeller through a discharge portion of the housing with improved efficiency. The housing may be polygonal in transverse cross section and the wall structure may have turned edge portions for suitably cooperating with the housing in directing the air from the fan through the air flow passages.

Vacuum cleaner fan

A vacuum cleaner construction wherein the carriage wheels are driven by an electric motor. An improved air flow arrangement is associated with the drive motor for conducting relatively clean cooling air into the motor for heat transfer therefrom, and conducting the cooling air from the motor for delivery with air conducted from a suction inlet to a suction fan.

Self-propelled vacuum cleaner

An improved mounting structure for movably mounting the handle of a power driven vacuum cleaner including spring biasing structure urging the handle to a central neutral position and permitting the user of the vacuum cleaner to effect selective forward and rearward movement of the vacuum cleaner by suitable manipulation of the handle against the action of the spring biasing structure. The spring biasing structure is defined by a cartridge which is mounted in a tubular portion of the handle. Improved bearing structures are provided for providing facilitated longitudinal reciprocation of the handle for facilitated control of the forward and reverse operation of the vacuum cleaner.
