A method includes displaying a user interface having selectable features on the touch-sensitive display, determining that the electronic device is in a one-handed mode, determining that at least one of the selectable features of the user interface is displayed in an inaccessible portion of the touch-sensitive display, displaying, in an accessible portion of the touch sensitive display, an additional selectable feature associated with the at least one of the selectable features displayed in the inaccessible portion, and in response to receiving a selection of the additional selectable feature, performing a function associated with the at least one of the selectable features.

A gesture is detected on the touch-sensitive display, which gesture indicates a request to display information associated with a second application. The panels also include at least one launch panel having a number of graphical user interface elements, such as icons, representing access points to a corresponding application on the device. When navigating from one of the launch panels to the fullscreen view, an intermediate lock interface for receiving an unlocking input is displayed. The unlocking input is received before the fullscreen view is displayed.

Selective inbox access in homescreen mode on a mobile electronic device

A method includes displaying, on a display of an electronic device, an information element associated with an application and detecting a first gesture. In response to detecting the first gesture, at least a first part of a first image is displayed, including information associated with the application, while reducing display of the information element.

An example method includes displaying information associated with a first message of a first type on a display of an electronic device, detecting initiation of a search associated with the first message, identifying, by the electronic device, a search request determined from an element of the first message, searching, by the electronic device, for a second message of the first type and a third message of a second type, wherein the second message and the third message correspond to the search request, and displaying information associated with the second message and information associated with the third message.
