In one aspect, a mounting assembly for mounting an architectural covering to a support structure may include a bracket configured to be coupled to the support structure and a bracket adapter configured to be coupled to the bracket. In addition, the mounting assembly may include an end mount configured to be coupled to both an adjacent end of the covering and the bracket adapter. In accordance with aspects of the present subject matter, the various components of the mounting assembly may be configured or adapted to provide one or more advantages over known mounting assemblies.

A method implemented in an architectural covering. The method comprising powering down, prior to transitioning to a sleep mode, a position tracking device configured to generate output data indicating a position of at least one of a covering or a motor. The method further comprising transitioning from an operational mode to the sleep mode, the sleep mode associated with a lower power consumption than the operational mode. The method further comprising exiting the sleep mode based on a trigger and powering up, after exiting the sleep mode, the position tracking device. The method further comprising receiving the output data from the position tracking device. The method further comprising determining whether the position has changed since the transitioning to the sleep mode. The method further comprising continuing to operate outside of the sleep mode if the position has changed, or returning to the sleep mode if the position has not changed.

Methods and apparatus for controlling architectural opening coverings in more than one mode

A power supply unit for use with one or more motorized architectural-structure coverings is disclosed. In one example of an embodiment, the power supply unit includes one or more features to simplify installation. For example, in one embodiment, the power supply unit does not require an installer to access an internal compartment of the power supply unit. In addition, and/or alternatively, in one embodiment, a cable extending between the power supply unit and the motorized architectural-structure covering include same gender connectors for facilitating easier installation and reducing installation errors. In one embodiment, the power supply unit includes a power connector accessible through an outer surface thereof for receiving line-voltage and a plurality of low-voltage connectors accessible through the outer surface for supplying low-voltage to a plurality of motorized architectural-structure coverings.

Methods and apparatus to operate a covering of an architectural covering are disclosed. An example apparatus includes a clutch to disengage a motor when the motor is not in use. The dual control architectural covering further includes a clutch to disengage a motor from moving a covering to facilitate manual operation of the covering of an architectural covering when the motor is not in use; and a controller: to track a covering position based on a first encoder measurement from a first encoder; and to track a motor position when the motor disengages based on a second encoder measurement from a second encoder different from the first encoder.

A dual control architectural covering is disclosed. A dual control architectural covering includes a clutch to disengage a motor when the motor is not in use. The dual control architectural covering further includes a manual control to move the covering of the architectural opening while the motor is disengaged. The dual control architectural covering further includes a braking element to resist movement of a drive element of the covering when the motor is disengaged.

A method for manufacturing a window covering for an architectural opening. The method includes operatively coupling a support material and at least one operating element to a roller for selective rotative movement during use. The at least one operating element extending along at least a part of the length of the support material. The method also includes extending a plurality of vanes relative to the support material. Each vane including an upper edge and a lower edge, wherein the upper edge of each of the vanes is fixed against movement relative to the support material, the lower edge of each of the vanes is fixed against movement relative to the at least one operating element, and the lower edge of each of the vanes moves relative to the upper edge of each of the vanes by moving the at least one operating element.

The holder may define a cavity that opens through a surface of the holder. A method for manufacturing a window covering for an architectural opening is disclosed. The covering including a support, at least one vane, and at least one operating element. The method for manufacturing the covering includes extending the vane across the support; extending the operating element along a length of the support, and coupling the covering to a roller for selective rotative movement for extending and retracting the covering during use. The operating element being movable with respect to the support. In use, an upper portion of the vane is fixed with respect to the support while a lower portion of the vane is fixed with respect to the operating element so that the lower portion of the vane is movable relative to the upper portion by moving the at least one operating element.
