A hammer spring assembly comprises a spring and a member operatively coupling the spring and a hammer of a firearm when the hammer spring assembly is connected to a firearm. The hammer is biased by the spring to rotate forward toward a cartridge or firing pin. The spring exerts a bias force on the member in the forward direction, which urges the member against a curved rearward surface of the hammer at a hammer contact point. As the hammer rotates rearward, the hammer contact point moves along the rearward hammer surface so as to cause a desired variation of an effective lever arm about the hammer pivot point of the bias force exerted on the hammer. Methods comprise connecting the hammer spring assembly to a firearm, or providing the hammer spring assembly and instructing a user to connect it to a firearm.

Hammer spring assembly for a firearm

A stowable support system having an arm and an attachment member pivotal through a plurality of angular positions relative to the arm. The arm includes a follower assembly with a surface portion of a first contour, with the attachment member including a surface portion of a second contour that is cooperative to the first contour. A rest position is defined by at least one of the plurality of angular positions, in which the surface portions of the follower assembly and attachment member are in mating contact. The follower assembly and attachment member are biased toward engagement with each other, with at least one of the attachment member and the follower assembly being configured to be resiliently deformed when the attachment member is pivoted out of the rest position.

Stowable support system

A sun visor monorail system, which includes a monorail mounted adjacent a window in a car or airplane cockpit and a sun visor which is selectively positionable along the monorail and selectively stowable away from the window or deployable next to the window, is provided with a gripping system for selectively releasing the sun visor from, and locking the sun visor onto, the monorail. The gripping system includes a first gripping member having a surface for contacting the monorail, a second gripping member having a surface opposed to the first member's surface for contacting the monorail and holding the monorail between the two surfaces, a mounting mechanism supporting the members, and a locking mechanism coupled to the members. The locking mechanism includes a cam mechanism for transforming a rotational force, applied by hand to the locking mechanism, into a gripping force applied to the monorail through the gripping members. The sun visor system is also provided with a rail stop mountable on the monorail, providing detented rotational positions allowing the sun visor to either be flipped up and away from the window or deployed in front of the window.
