A tibial baseplate for tibial component of a knee prosthesis including: a bulk solid portion including a proximally facing surface adapted to accommodate a bearing element for the articulation of a femoral component of the knee prosthesis; a plurality of porous portions integral with the bulk solid portion having a porous portion contacting surface opposite to the proximally facing surface adapted to contact a proximal tibia. Advantageously, the plurality of porous portions are seamlessly incorporated and embedded in the bulk solid portion.

A computing device uses a plurality of images of arthroplasty to measure implant position. A virtual three-dimensional model is generated using at least some of the plurality of images. Moreover, the computing device configured in accordance with the present application simulates, as a function of the virtual three-dimensional model, movement at the site. As a function of the simulating, the computing device determines occurrence, location and type of impingement, and identifies, using the determined location and type of the impingement, a plurality of surgical plans for treating the impingement, wherein each of the surgical plans has a respective degree of treatment effectiveness and a respective degree of invasiveness. Further, the computing device selects one of the surgical plans in accordance with the selected plan's predetermined respective degree of effectiveness and in accordance with the selected plan's predetermined respective degree of invasiveness.

A customized unicompartmental tibial cutting guide for orthopedic surgery is provided. A patient-specific acetabular guide for use in orienting an acetabular component with respect to an acetabulum of a patient as part of a surgical procedure includes a body having a bottom contact surface that has a portion that is shaped and configured to initimately receive and interlockingly mate with an acetabular notch of the patient's acetabulum in accordance with a three-dimensional image of the acetabulum of the specific patient. The three-dimensional image can be in the form of a three-dimensional virtual model of the patient's acetabulum that is constructed at least in part on 3D image data of the pelvic region of the patient.

A femoral component for a knee joint prosthesis is formed of a body having an anterior side, a posterior side, and pair of laterally spaced condylar portions. The femoral component includes an intercondylar portion that joins the condylar portions and includes a recess. The intercondylar portion has an arcuate shaped roof that extends between a pair of opposing side walls. The arcuate shaped roof is formed so as to be defined by a single radius.
