A time-release composition and method of making and using the time-release composition. The time-release composition may include an active ingredient that is useful in deterring unwanted growth, such as bacterial and fungal growth, in high-flow water environments. The composition can include several active ingredients to provide a multiple use tablet. The multi-use tablet can be used to dispense any combination of active ingredients that act as clarifiers, minerals, medications, buffers, chemical dosing, and/or other maintenance components, such as growth deterrents and water filtration augmentation and any combination thereof.

Time-release tablet and methods

A basking heater for an animal, such as a reptile, includes a housing, a heating element within the housing, and an opening in a bottom of the housing, so that the heating element may radiate heat through the opening, and an attachment arrangement. The attachment arrangement can be used to selectively attach the heater to a terrarium. The housing can be made of thermal plastic resin and can include vents for cooling the housing. The housing can have low profile shape. The heater may have multiple power settings.

Basking heater and methods

An external filter for an aquarium includes a canister filter having a filter assembly removably oriented therein. The filter assembly includes at least two stacked trays releasably secured together in series. The stacked trays include a compartment for holding filter media. In one embodiment, the trays are releasably secured together with a strap. In one embodiment, the filter assembly also includes a handle. In one example, the strap forms a portion of the handle.

Filter assembly and methods for external filter for an aquarium

A filter including a filter housing having a spillway and a pneumatic intake assembly that draws water from an aquarium into the filter housing. The filter housing being configured to internally mount to the aquarium. The filter housing having first and second chamber oriented in a side-by-side arrangement such that water flows in a generally horizontal direction through a filter cartridge positioned between the first and second chambers.

Air-powered filter arrangement

An aquarium filter arrangement including a filter housing and a filter cartridge positionable within a filter chamber of the filter housing. The filter arrangement includes a hinged cover connected to the filter housing. The hinged cover is designed to collect condensation when the cover is in an open position, and empty the collected condensation into the filter chamber when the cover is closed. The filtering housing also includes guides located above the filter chamber. The filter cartridge can be positioned within the guides during maintenance of the aquarium.

An impeller, and impeller and rotor assembly, for use with a permanent magnet motor that provide uni-directional rotation. The impeller and rotor assembly includes an interconnecting arrangement and a locking arrangement that permit continuous rotation in a first direction and prevent continuous rotation in a second opposite direction.
