The present invention disclosed provides for a rugged, compact sensing device for various implementations including those of automotive, marine, and other combustion technologies that require low cost accurate pressure sensing during internal combustion engine process. In one or more aspects of the present invention, a MEMS sensor connection with a flexible circuit is presented and the communication of which is preferably achieved through the use of wire bond technology.

Assemblies in accordance with the present invention can access a data storage medium having one or more disks. One such assembly comprises a mounting block including a bore and at least one arm connected with the mounting block. A flexible member is connected with the at least one arm and a head is associated with the flexible member. The head is positioned over the surface of the disk. The arm is designed such that it can be disconnected from the mount without disassembling the bore. By having a removably fastened arm, the assembly can be built at a relatively low cost and without misalignment and deformation. A disk drive includes a storage disk, a head stack assembly and a fluid deflector. The head stack assembly includes a transducer assembly. The fluid deflector includes a deflector finger that deflects turbulent fluid flow away from the transducer assembly. The fluid deflector can include one or more landing pads that inhibit the slider from landing on the storage disk. The deflector finger can include a side that remains in close proximity to the slider during operation of the disk drive.
