Novel 2,2-dimethyl-cyclopropane carboxylic acid derivatives of the formula ##STR1## wherein X.sub.1 and X.sub.2 are individually halogen, R.sub.1 is selected from the group consisting of halogen, alkyl of 1 to 8 carbon atoms, optionally substituted aryl of 6 to 14 carbon atoms, perfluoroalkyl of 1 to 8 carbon atoms, --CN and ##STR2## R' is alkyl of 1 to 8 carbon atoms, Y is selected from the group consisting of --SO.sub.2 Alk.sub.1, --SO.sub.2 Ar, ##STR3## Alk.sub.1 is optionally unsaturated alkyl of 1 to 8 carbon atoms optionally substituted with at least one halogen, Ar is aryl of 6 to 14 carbon atoms optionally substituted with at least one halogen Alk.sub.2 and Alk.sub.3 and Alk.sub.2 ' and Alk.sub.3 ' are optionally unsaturated alkyl of up to 8 carbon atoms optionally substituted with at least one halogen or together with ##STR4## form the rings ##STR5## wherein A is optionally unsaturated alkyl of up to 6 carbon atoms optionally substituted with at least one halogen, R' is alkyl of 1 to 6 carbon atoms no substituted or substituted with at least one functional group or aryl of 6 to 14 carbon atoms no substituted or substituted with at least one functional group and R is selected from the group consisting of hydrogen, alkyl of 1 to 8 carbon atoms and residue of an alcohol used in pyrethrinoid esters having pestioidal activity.

Process for the preparation of certain cyclopropane carboxylates

Novel 2,2-dimethyl-cyclopropane carboxylic acid derivatives of the formula ##STR1## wherein X.sub.1 and X.sub.2 are individually halogen, R.sub.1 is selected from the group consisting of halogen, alkyl of 1 to 8 carbon atoms, optionally substituted aryl of 6 to 14 carbon atoms, perfluoroalkyl of 1 to 8 carbon atoms, --CN and ##STR2## R' is alkyl of 1 to 8 carbon atoms, Y is selected from the group consisting of ##STR3## Alk.sub.1 is optionally unsaturated alkyl of 1 to 8 carbon atoms no substituted or substituted with at least one functional group, Ar is aryl of 6 to 14 carbon atoms no substituted or substituted with at least one functional group, Alk.sub.2 and Alk.sub.3 and Alk.sub.2 ' and Alk.sub.3 ' are optionally unsaturated alkyl of 1 to 8 carbon atoms no substituted or substituted with at least one functional group or together with ##STR4## form the rings ##STR5## wherein A is optionally unsaturated alkyl of 1 to 6 carbon atoms optionally substituted with at least one functional group, R' is alkyl of 1 to 6 carbon atoms no substituted or substituted with at least one functional group or aryl of 6 to 14 carbon atoms no substituted or substituted with at least one functional group and R is selected from the group consisting of hydrogen, alkyl of 1 to 8 carbon atoms and residue of an alcohol used in pyrethrinoid esters having pestioidal activity.

Novel cyclopropane carboxylates

Novel cyclopropane carboxylic acid esters of all possible stereoisomeric forms and mixtures thereof of the formula ##STR1## wherein X is selected from the group consisting of hydrogen, fluorine, chlorine and bromine, R is selected from the group consisting of optionally unsaturated alkyl of 1 to 8 carbon atoms optionally substituted, optionally unsaturated cycloalkyl of 3 to 8 carbon atoms optionally substituted, optionally substituted aryl of 6 to 14 carbon atoms and optionally substituted heterocycle, Z is selected from the group consisting of hydrogen, --CH.sub.3, --CN and --C.tbd.CH and Y is selected from the group consisting of hydrogen, --OH, optionally unsaturated alkyl of 1 to 8 carbon atoms optionally substituted, --CN, --(CH.sub.2).sub.m --OAlk, --(CH.sub.2).sub.m --S--Alk, ##STR2## m is 0,1,2,3 or 4, Alk is alkyl of 1 to 12 carbon atoms, --Si(Alk').sub.3, Alk' is optionally unsaturated alkyl of 1 to 8 carbon atoms optionally substituted, --O--Ar and --(CH.sub.2).sub.m --Ar and Ar is aryl of 6 to 14 carbon atoms having excellent pesticidal activities and novel intermediates.

Novel 2,2-dimethyl-cyclopropane carboxylic acid derivatives of the formula ##STR1## wherein X.sub.1 and X.sub.2 are individually halogen, R.sub.1 is selected from the group consisting of halogen, alkyl of 1 to 8 carbon atoms, optionally substituted aryl of 6 to 14 carbon atoms, perfluoroalkyl of 1 to 8 carbon atoms, --CN and ##STR2## R' is alkyl of 1 to 8 carbon atoms, Y is selected from the group consisting of --SO.sub.2 Alk.sub.1, --SO.sub.2 Ar, ##STR3## Alk.sub.1 is optionally unsaturated alkyl of 1 to 8 carbon atoms no substituted or substituted with at least one functional group, Ar is aryl of 6 to 14 carbon atoms no substituted or substituted with at least one functional group, Alk.sub.2 and Alk.sub.3 and Alk.sub.2 ' and Alk.sub.3 ' are optionally unsaturated alkyl of 1 to 8 carbon atoms no substituted or substituted with at least one functional group or together with ##STR4## form the rings ##STR5## wherein A is optionally unsaturated alkyl of 1 to 6 carbon atoms optionally substituted with at least one functional group, R' is alkyl of 1 to 6 carbon atoms no substituted or substituted with at least one functional group or aryl of 6 to 14 carbon atoms no substituted or substituted with at least one functional group and R is selected from the group consisting of hydrogen, alkyl of 1 to 8 carbon atoms and residue of an alcohol used in pyrethrinoid esters having pesticidal activity.

All possible stereoisomeric forms and mixtures thereof of a compound of the formula ##STR1## wherein A is selected from the group consisting of hydrogen, optionally unsaturated alkyl and haloalkyl of 1 to 18 carbon atoms, optionally substituted with aryl or a heterocyclic and optionally interrupted by --O-- or --S--, optionally unsaturated cycloalkyl of 3 to 18 carbon atoms, aryl of 6 to 14 carbon atoms and heterocyclic, B is selected from the group consisting of hydrogen, alkyl of 1 to 18 carbon atoms optionally interrupted by --S-- or --O-- and optionally substituted with at least one member of the group consisting of halogen, --OH, alkoxy of 1 to 8 carbon atoms, --SH, thioalkoxy of 1 to 8 carbon atoms, --NO.sub.2 and --CN and R is selected from the group consisting of optionally unsaturated alkyl of 1 to 18 carbon atoms and residue of an alcohol used in the synthesis of pyrethrinoid esters having pesticidal activity.

Certain oximino-cyclopropane carboxylates having insecticidal activity

Novel stereoisomers or mixtures of stereoisomers of compounds of the formula ##STR1## wherein R is the residue of an alcohol used in the pyrethrinoid field having remarkable pesticidal properties and being surprisingly stable.

Novel cyclopropane carboxylates in all isomeric forms of the formula ##STR1## wherein A is selected from the group consisting of --O--, --S--, ##STR2## and --SO.sub.2 --, R.sub.1 is selected from the group consisting of optionally unsaturated alkyl of 1 to 18 carbon atoms optionally containing at least one heteroatom in the carbon chain and optionally substituted with at least one halogen, aryl of 6 to 18 carbon atoms and aralkyl of 7 to 18 carbon atoms and R.sub.2 is selected from the group consisting of hydrogen, optionally unsaturated alkyl of 1 to 12 carbon atoms, optionally unsaturated cycloalkyl of 3 to 12 carbon atoms and residue of other alcohols used in pyrethrinoids having pesticidal activity for combatting insects, acariens of vegetables and warm-blooded animals and nematodes and novel intermediates.

Insecticidal cyclopropane carboxylates

All stereoisomeric forms and mixtures of stereoisomers of compounds of the formula ##STR1## wherein X is selected from the group consisting of oxygen, sulfur, sulfoxide and sulfone, R.sub.1 and R.sub.3 are individually selected from the group consisting of optionally unsaturated alkyl of 1 to 7 carbon atoms and optionally unsaturated cycloalkyl of 3 to 7 carbon atoms optionally substituted with at least one halogen and optionally interrupted with at least one heteroatom and aryl and aralkyl of 6 to 18 carbon atoms and R.sub.2 is the residue of a R.sub.2 OH alcohol used in pyrethrinoids synthesis having pesticidal activity and their preparation and novel intermediates.

Cyclopropane carboxylic acid derivatives

Novel 3-(1,2-propadienyl)-cyclopropane-carboxylates of the formula ##STR1## wherein R is alcohol used in pyrethrinoid synthesis, X and Y are both hydrogen or individually halogen or X is hydrogen or halogen and Y is alkyl of 1 to 18 carbon atoms or halogen or X is hydrogen or halogen or alkyl of 1 to 18 carbon atoms and Y is --COOR' or --CN or ##STR2## R' is alkyl of 1 to 18 carbon atoms, R.sub.2 and R.sub.3 are individually hydrogen or alkyl of 1 to 18 carbon atoms or R.sub.2 and R.sub.3 together with the nitrogen atom form a heterocycle having pesticidal properties.
