The liquid-gas separator includes: a substantially planar body configured to be seated in a fluid flow to separate a flow of liquid from the fluid flow, one or more apertures disposed in the body configured collect the flow of liquid, and one or more diverters integrally formed on or in the body configured divert the flow of liquid towards the one or more apertures. In certain embodiments, the planar body can be additively manufactured.

Disclosed is a system for an elevator door of an elevator car, wherein a controller controls the elevator door to travel in a proximate direction when closing and travel in a distal direction when opening, the system including: a panel that forms an exterior surface of an elevator door, the panel including a front surface extending in a widthwise direction between a proximate end and an opposing distal end to form a front surface of the elevator door, the panel including a proximate end surface extending in a depthwise direction to form a proximate end surface of the elevator door, the proximate end surface of the panel comprising a resilient portion that is capable of engaging a sensor in the panel when the elevator door is closing, and thereafter the controller instructs the elevator door to reopen.

A method for deep roll peening a workpiece includes deep roll peening a workpiece by moving the workpiece along a feed path through multiple groups of opposed rollers that are arranged in series. Each group of opposed rollers includes a rim that defines a workpiece engagement surface that exerts a deep roll peening force on the workpiece. A deep roll peening system includes multiple groups of opposed rollers. Each of the opposed rollers is rotatably mounted and has a rim that defines a workpiece engagement surface. The workpiece engagement surfaces are spaced apart from each other by a gap. The groups are arranged in series such that the gaps define a feed path for receiving a workpiece into serial contact with the workpiece engagement surfaces.

A termination device for a suspension member of an elevator system includes a housing, and a wedge assembly positioned in the housing. The wedge assembly is interactive with the suspension member to apply a clamping force to the suspension member in response to an axial load acting on the suspension member. The wedge assembly includes a compressible cushion configured to increase uniformity of the clamping force applied to the suspension member by the wedge assembly. An elevator system includes a hoistway, an elevator car located in the hoistway, a suspension member operably connected to the elevator car to suspend and/or drive the elevator car along the hoistway, and a termination device located in the hoistway and operably connected to a suspension member end of the suspension member.

A braking system for a hoisted structure guided along a guide rail is provided. The braking system includes a brake member for coupling to the hoisted structure and having a brake surface configured to frictionally engage the guide rail, the brake member moveable between a braking position and a non-braking position. Further included is a brake member actuation mechanism operatively coupled to the brake member and configured to actuate the brake member from the non-braking position to the braking position, the brake member actuation mechanism remaining coupled to the brake member in the braking position to control the braking force applied on the hoisted structure by the frictional engagement between the guide rail and the brake member.
