An interior component for a vehicle may include a nonwoven fabric impregnated with a resin. The nonwoven fabric and resin are consolidated into a solid sheet devoid of pockets. The interior component may exclude metal coated filler particles and lubricants. The method of making the interior component includes the steps of: forming a nonwoven fabric of a staple fiber and a resin, consolidating the nonwoven fabric and the resin into a solid sheet, and forming the solid sheet into the vehicle component. The vehicle may be an airplane, train, subway car, light rail car, bus, or automobile. The resin may be a polymer selected from the group consisting of polyphenylene sulfide, polyetherimide, polyaryletherketone, co-polymers thereof, and combinations thereof.

Interior design structures and lightweight furniture formed from a felted fibrous material such as needle punched felt as the material of construction in replacement for wood. The felted fibrous material is adapted to provide adequate strength to permit construction of three dimensional structures by use of standard joining techniques such as screws, nails, glue and the like. At the same time, the nature of the felted fibrous material affords the opportunity to bend and shape the material thereby allowing additional freedom in construction and use.

A bearing for supporting the drum of a clothes dryer which includes an interior structural layer of high coherency felted fibrous material and an exterior surface covering for contact with the dryer drum formed of fibrous material including a wool constituent. The felted interior provides support and noise damping character while the exterior surface covering provides friction reduction and enhanced flame retardancy.

A display device for use on automobiles and the like which includes a bracket having a vertical bore extending therethrough for supporting a staff upon which a flag is carried. The bracket is attached to an automobile and the staff can be readily removed from the bracket for waving the flag by hand.
