An attachment for connecting independent microscopes to permit the object under inspection in one microscope to be simultaneously viewable through other microscopes is disclosed. Optical systems are described for connecting two or three microscopes in a manner which permits an object on the stage of any of the microscopes to be viewed in all of the microscopes or selectively viewable only in the microscope having the object.

Attachment for connecting a plurality of independent microscopes

A pair of identical bi-convex triplets, a mirror, and a pentaprism are used to extend the parallel light zone between the objective and the telescope lens of a conventional infinity corrected microscope system. Specific values for the components and spacings between the same are given.

Optical system for inverted microscopes

A relay lens system for use with a microscope to provide a station having a location optically equivalent to the back focal plane of the microscope objective is improved by using two identical lens components having different front and back focal lengths and arranged on the optical axis with opposite axial orientations. A back aperture viewer may be selectively positioned on the optical axis for viewing an optical element at said station.
