A combined furniture and heating device having a concealable electric fireplace insert installed within a fireplace compartment of a furniture apparatus is provided. The electric fireplace insert has a front surface from which simulated flames are viewable when an opening of the fireplace compartment is uncovered so that the furniture apparatus is configured in its open configuration. The furniture apparatus includes a concealing panel removably installable over the opening configure the device in a concealed configuration so that the electric fireplace insert and its simulated flames viewable at its front surface are at least partially concealed. Power to a heating apparatus of the electric fireplace insert is turned on and off by a disabling device as the concealing panel is alternated between the open and concealed configurations. The disabling device can include a switch or a thermistor.

Concealable electric fireplace insert

A fireplace outer wrap configured to be located behind a mounting wall, the fireplace outer wrap having an outer-wrap opening facing outwards from an opening in the mounting wall. The fireplace comprises a flush-mounted assembly coupled to the fireplace outer wrap, including a surround structure configured to encompass a perimeter of the opening in the mounting wall and be positioned in front of the fireplace outer wrap located behind the mounting wall, and a bezel structure configured to fit within the outer surround structure. An inner edge perimeter of the surround structure and an outer edge perimeter of the bezel structure oppose each other and define a gap between the inner edge perimeter and the outer edge perimeter such that air can flow through the gap. An outside major surface of the surround structure and an outside major surface of the bezel structure are substantially co-planar with each other and with an exterior surface of the mounting wall.

Flush-mounted fireplace assembly

A flush-mounted fireplace assembly comprising a surround structure configured to encompass a perimeter of an opening in a mounting wall and a bezel structure configured to fit within the outer surround structure. An inner edge of the surround structure and an outer edge of the bezel structure oppose each other and define a gap between inner edge and outer edge such that air can flow through the gap. An outside major surface of the surround structure and an outside major surface of the bezel structure are substantially co-planar with each other and with an exterior surface of the mounting wall.

A burner assembly for a fireplace, comprising a fuel-metering plate, a fuel-delivery plenum and a dividing plate. The fuel metering plate has tines that form a combed structure in an uppermost portion of the fuel-metering plate, the combed structure extending along a long dimension of the fuel-metering plate. The fuel-delivery plenum has a fuel chamber and the fuel-delivery plenum being coupled to the fuel-metering plate such that the fuel chamber extends along the long dimension of the fuel metering plate. The dividing plate is located between the fuel-metering plate and the fuel-delivery plenum. The dividing plate has a slotted opening that extends along the long dimension of the fuel metering plate, the slotted opening being in fluid communication with individual channels between the tines and with the fuel chamber.

Thin flame burner for a fireplace

A fireplace liner comprising a first panel configured to be located in front of a fireplace burner assembly that has a lateral dimension that extends across a viewing window of a fireplace box. The first panel is configured to extend laterally along the lateral dimension, and, a rear end of the first panel, nearest to the burner assembly, includes a first trough having a vertical wall with a plurality of first slots therein. The liner comprises a second panel configured to be located behind the burner assembly in the box. The second panel is configured to extend laterally along the lateral dimension, and a front end of the second panel, nearest to the burner assembly, includes a second trough having another vertical wall with a plurality of second slots therein. The first and second slots permit secondary air flow there-through.

Fireplace liner

One aspect provides a heating device comprising a firebox having a hearth therein and first and second heat exchange chambers, and a heat exchanging plate having a first surface and a second opposing surface. The heat exchanging plate is suspended above the hearth, such that the first surface is located between the hearth and the second surface. The heat exchanging plate has lower protrusions extending from the first surface and into the first heat exchange chamber, and upper protrusions extending from the second surface and into the second heat exchange chamber. A method of manufacturing a heating device is also disclosed.

Heating device

A refractory panel for a fireplace comprising interconnected sub-panels forming a textured surface. Adjacent ones of the sub-panels are partially separated from each other by gaps located between edges of the adjacent subpanels.
