The present invention relates to novel arginine analogs, and methods for their synthesis and use. Such analogs are designed to provide a protected or free thiol (&#x2014;SH) group, thereby providing a convenient linkage chemistry for coupling to a suitable group on a target such as a protein, polypeptide, detectable label or solid phase, and at a site distal to the guanidino group. Arginine analog conjugates are useful for generating antibodies that can bind specifically with dimethylarginine, which can be detected using such antibodies in immunoassays.

Water soluble hybrid phthalocyanine derivatives useful in competitive and noncompetitive assays immunoassays, nucleic acid and assays are disclosed and claimed having (1) at least one donor subunit with a desired excitation peak, and (2) at least one acceptor subunit with a desired emission peak, wherein said derivative(s) is/are capable of intramolecular energy transfer from said donor subunit to said acceptor subunit. The present invention describes carbamic acid ester-derived and valeric acid ester-derived polyfunctional cross-linker molecules, and methods for their synthesis and use. The inclusion of polymeric moieties such as poly(alkylene oxide) in the cross-linkers of the present invention can provide advantageous solubility properties in aqueous environments. Such cross-linkers may be used to form conjugates for use in a variety of assay formats.

The present invention is directed to novel tricyclic antidepressant derivatives which are synthesized for the covalent attachment to antigens (proteins or polypeptides) for the preparation of antibodies or receptors to tricyclic antidepressant and tricyclic antidepressant metabolites. The resulting novel antigens may be used for the production of antibodies or receptors using standard methods. Once generated, the antibodies or receptors and the novel derivatives which are covalently attached to proteins, polypeptides or labels may be used in the immunoassay process.

Derivatives of tricyclic antidepressants and protein and polypeptide tricyclic antidepressant derivative conjugates and labels

The invention describes the particles comprising an energy donor as a first component and a fluorescent dye as a second component positioned in said particles at an energy exchanging distance from one another, wherein the two components have a Stokes shift of greater than or equal to 50 nm, said particle having bound on its surface, a protein, polypeptide, nucleic acid, nucleotide or protein containing ligand analogue are disclosed and claimed.
