An apparatus for providing metal ions to a fluid waste stream includes a housing having an inlet port and an outlet port through which the fluid waste stream enters and exits the housing. Within the housing and between the inlet and outlet ports is an electrode assembly that includes first electrode ring assemblies and second electrode ring assemblies. Each first electrode ring assembly includes a first tubular section formed of electrically insulative material and has an interior through which the fluid waste stream flows. One or more first electrode plates span the interior of the first tubular section and contact the fluid waste stream. Each second electrode ring assembly includes a second tubular section formed of electrically insulative material and has an interior through which the fluid waste stream flows. One or more second electrode plates span the interior of the second tubular section and contact the fluid waste stream. The first tubular sections of the first electrode ring assemblies are in fluid communication with the second tubular sections of the second electrode ring assemblies.

Apparatus and method for generating metal ions in a fluid stream

A medical instrument cleaning concentrate and method for cleaning medical equipment. The method includes contacting the equipment with a cleaning concentrate dissolved in water. The cleaning concentrate contains (i) a biofilm permeation agent, (ii) a nonionic alkoxylated alcohol surfactant having an HLB ranging from about 5 to less than 8, wherein a weight ratio of (i) to (ii) in the cleaning concentrate based on 100 wt. % active ingredients ranges from about 0.5:1 to about 1.5:1, and (iii) and an inert diluents. After contacting the equipment with the cleaning concentrate dissolved in water, the contacted surfaces are rinsed to substantially remove detectible traces of the ingredients of the cleaning concentrate from the surfaces.

Medical instrument cleaning solution and method of cleaning contaminated surfaces

A medical instrument cleaning concentrate and method for cleaning medical equipment. The concentrate contains an active ingredient consisting essentially of (i) a biofilm permeation agent and (ii) a nonionic alkoxylated alcohol surfactant having an HLB ranging from about 5 to about 8, wherein a ratio of (i) to (ii) in the concentrate ranges from about 2:1 to about 4:1.

Method of cleaning contaminated surfaces

A method for cleaning contaminated surfaces of surgical waste management equipment. The method includes rinsing surfaces of the equipment with water to remove water soluble contaminants and waste material. A rinse solution is applied to the surfaces of the equipment to provide a residual film thereon. The rinse solution includes a first nonionic alkoxylated alcohol surfactant having an HLB value ranging from about 12 to about 15, a second nonionic alkoxylated alcohol surfactant having an HLB value ranging from about 16 to 20, an aqueous solvent, and a bio-film permeation agent. A total of the first surfactant and the second surfactant in the composition ranges from about 2 to about 20 percent by weight of a total weight of the composition.

An alkaline composition is described having a first nonionic alkoxylated alcohol surfactant having an HLB value ranging from about 10 to about 15, a second nonionic alkoxylated alcohol surfactant having an HLB value ranging from about 16 to 20, an aqueous solvent, and a bio-film permeation agent. A total amount of the first surfactant and the second surfactant in the composition ranges from about 2 to about 20 percent by weight of a total weight of the composition.

Water soluble barrier film conformal coating composition and method of cleaning contaminated surfaces

A modular waste disinfection system for the disinfection of substantially liquid infectious waste streams and methods of treating such waste streams are disclosed. The modular waste disinfection system includes a metal ion generation chamber for introducing metal ions into the waste material; an oxidant generation chamber in fluid flow communication with the metal ion generation chamber for disinfection of the waste material with an oxidizing agent; and a chelation chamber in fluid flow communication with the oxidant generation chamber for deactivation of metal ions in the waste material, wherein the waste is discharged to a sanitary sewer after disinfection.

In-line waste disinfection method

A modular waste treatment system for substantially liquid waste streams and methods of treating liquid waste streams are disclosed. The modular waste treatment system includes a maceration chamber for initial treatment and homogenization of waste material; a metal ion infusion chamber in fluid flow communication with the maceration chamber for introducing metal ions into the waste material; and an oxidation chamber for wet oxidation of the waste stream.

Process for cleaning surfaces of medical equipment

A solid object having controlled frangibility, such as a bullet or a container for explosives, is made by combining two different metals in proportions calculated to achieve a desired density, without using lead. A wetting material is deposited on the base constituent which is made of a relative dense, hard material. The wetting material enhances the wettability of the base constituent with the binder constituent, which is lighter and softer than the base constituent.
