An integrated circuit is built with enhancement mode Gallium Nitride (GaN) components. The integrated circuit comprises a comparator circuit which compares an input voltage with a reference voltage to provide a controllable constant current source, the comparator having a drive transistor having a positive threshold voltage, the drive transistor being switched on and off based on a comparison result of the comparator. The circuit may drive ring oscillators and may provide pulse width modulation with variable duty cycle at constant frequency.

Control circuit for ring oscillator-based power controller

A switching circuit comprises a main switch element having a gate as a control input; and a ring oscillator connected as a driver circuit to the gate to drive the main switch via the gate. The basic circuit is used to build various components which have the property that they can work at very high frequencies.

Power converter suitable for high frequencies

A ring oscillator test circuit, includes an odd number of stages, where each stage includes a load and drive transistor connected in series at a common node. The common node of each stage is electrically connected to the drive transistor gate of the following stage, and the common node of the last stage is connected to the drive transistor gate of the first stage. A first voltage input connects to the drains of all the load transistors. A second voltage input connects to the gates of all of the load transistors. A reference voltage input connects to the sources of all of the drive transistors. At least one of the common nodes connects to a test output.
