A method, apparatus, system, and computer program product for managing a product. An engineering product structure for the product is identified. The engineering product structure comprises parts for the product. A manufacturing product and process structure is created using the engineering product structure, wherein the manufacturing product and process structure comprises the parts and manufacturing information for connecting the parts to each other to form the product.

A device includes a processor configured to detect that a mobile device is within a coverage area of a wireless transceiver. The processor is also configured to select, based at least in part on a mobile device identifier of the mobile device, a data package identifier from a plurality of data package identifiers. The wireless transceiver is configured to transmit a command instructing the mobile device to access a data package corresponding to the selected data packet identifier. A computer program product and method for interrogating data attributes in a product development environment is provided. In one embodiment, a computer program product includes a product development application that includes an interrogate data selection device. A product development datastore stores attribute data associated with at least one of a part item and an annotation item created by the product development application. A data interrogator module is initiated by the interrogate data selection device and retrieves the attribute data associated with at the least one of the part item and the annotation item from the product development datastore. A graphical user interface manager module displays the attribute data in a user customizable presentation.

Methods and systems for interrogating data attributes in a process environment

Managing attribute information to provide output for other applications (e.g., applications for generating manufacturing instructions) may involve identifying attribute information associated with instances of a selected item type (e.g., parts fasteners). For example, in the case of fasteners, each of the instances of the selected item type is associated with a common part or product. The instances of the selected item type may then be sorted into initial groups based on grouping criteria such as part ID number, etc. Proximity rules may then be applied to the sorted instances. Applying proximity rules to the sorted instances may include grouping the instances into groups depending on whether or not have common relationships with other items. For example, in the case of fasteners, the proximity rules may involve determining whether each fastener passes through the same set of solids and/or shares common attributes.
