A stator assembly includes an annular body extending about a central axis and a plurality of stator teeth extending axially from the annular body and spaced circumferentially about the annular body. The stator assembly includes at least one conduction coil and at least one bobbin configured to support the at least one conduction coil. The at least one bobbin is coupled to a first stator tooth such that the at least one conduction coil extends about the first stator tooth. The stator assembly further includes at least one insulation member configured to couple to a second stator tooth and extend into a slot between the second stator tooth and the at least one conduction coil. The at least one insulation member includes an end wall configured to cover the distal end of the second stator tooth when the at least one insulation member is coupled to the second stator tooth.

Stator assembly including insulation member and method of assembly thereof

A centrifugal blower assembly includes a scroll wall, a pair of opposing sidewalls, and a cutoff plate. The scroll wall is positioned between the pair of opposing sidewalls such that the scroll wall and opposing sidewalls together define a blower chamber and a blower outlet. The scroll wall extends circumferentially between a cutoff point to an end point and defines a cutout extending circumferentially from the cutoff point. The scroll wall, the pair of opposing sidewalls, and the cutoff point define a blower outlet, wherein the blower outlet defines a blower outlet area. The cutoff plate extends circumferentially from the end point. The cutoff plate defines a notch defining a notch area, the notch area and the blower outlet area define a total blower outlet area, wherein the notch includes a center portion that defines a portion of an elliptical shape.

Centrifugal blower assembly and method for assembling the same

A dual stage blower assembly includes a first fan configured to rotate about the rotational axis and including a first plurality blades. The first plurality of blades include a plurality of backward curved blades. The dual stage blower assembly also includes a second fan circumscribing the first fan and configured to rotate about the rotational axis. The second fan includes a second plurality of blades, wherein the second plurality of blades include one of a plurality of forward curved blades, a plurality of a radial blades, or a plurality of backward curved blades. At least one motor is coupled to the first fan and the second fan and configured to rotate the first fan and the second fan about the rotational axis.

Dual stage blower assembly

A blower assembly includes a fan assembly configured to rotate about an axis and having a fan inlet ring that at least partially defines a fan inlet and a fan outlet. The blower assembly also includes a frame assembly coupled to the fan assembly and a recirculation damper coupled to the frame assembly. The recirculation damper and the fan inlet ring define an axial gap therebetween to reduce recirculation of an airflow discharged from the fan outlet.

Blower assembly and methods of assembling the same

A blower assembly includes a housing including an inner shell and an outer shell that define a flow passage therebetween. The inner shell also at least partially defines a cavity. The blower assembly also includes a fan coupled within the housing such that the fan also at least partially defines the cavity. The scroll wall extends circumferentially between a cutoff point to an end point and defines a cutout extending circumferentially from the cutoff point. The scroll wall, the pair of opposing sidewalls, and the cutoff point define a blower outlet. The blower outlet defines a blower outlet area. The adjustable cutoff plate is adjustably positioned within the cutout to define a notch defining a notch area. The notch area and the blower outlet area define a total blower outlet area.

A centrifugal blower assembly comprises a scroll wall and a pair of opposing sidewalls. The scroll wall is positioned between the pair of opposing sidewalls such that the scroll wall and opposing sidewalls together define a blower chamber and a blower outlet. The blower outlet defines a blower outlet area. An adjustable outlet plate is pivotably coupled to the pair of opposing sidewalls such that the adjustable outlet plate is moveable between a first position to define a first blower outlet area and a second position to define a second blower outlet area.

A bobbin assembly for use in a stator assembly for a motor assembly having an axis of rotation is provided. The bobbin assembly includes a conductor coil comprising a radially inner end and a radially outer end. The bobbin assembly also includes a bobbin including a body portion having a first end and a second end, wherein the conductor coil is coupled about the body portion. The bobbin also includes a first flange coupled to the first end, a second flange coupled to the second end, and an extension tab formed on one of the first flange or the second flange. The extension tab extends radially beyond one of the radially inner end or radially outer end of the conductor coil.

An insulation member for a stator assembly includes a first portion configured to couple to a first stator tooth and a second portion movably coupled to the first portion. The insulation member has a first configuration and a second configuration. The second portion is configured to move relative to the first portion when the insulation member moves between the first configuration and the second configuration. The second portion is configured to extend adjacent a second stator tooth when the first portion is coupled to the first stator tooth and the insulation member is in the second configuration.

A blower assembly kit for fabricating a plurality of blower assemblies is provided. A first of the plurality of blower assemblies is configured for use with a first motor having a rotor and a second of the plurality of blower assemblies is configured for use with a second motor having a shaft. The kit includes a body having a member for generating air flow, a first adapter having a first connection for connecting the first adapter to the body and a second connection for connecting the first adapter to the rotor of the first motor, and having a second adapter having a first connection connecting the second adapter to the body and a second connection connecting the second adapter to the shaft of the second motor. The body and the first adapter provide the first blower assembly and the body and the second adapter provide the second blower assembly.

A forward curved blower wheel has fan blades having relatively small leading edge blades angles and a relatively lengthy mean camber lines. The blower wheel also comprises leading edge notches adjacent its blower wheel inlet. The leading edge notches eliminate buffeting that would occur with such blades if such notches were not present.

A grounding device for an electric machine, having a rotating component and a stationary component, includes a core fabricated from a non-conductive material and a plurality of conductive fibers coupled to the core and extending therefrom. The plurality of conductive fibers are configured to electrically couple the rotating component with the stationary component such that an electrostatic charge on the rotating component is directed through the plurality of conductive fibers to the stationary component.

Grounding device for electric machine and methods of assembling the same

An electric machine includes a stator having a first end and a second end and an end frame including a first cup portion arranged to at least partially contain a portion of the stator. The end frame is positioned adjacent the first end of the stator. A potting cup includes a second cup portion arranged to at least partially contain a portion of the stator. The potting cup is positioned adjacent the second end of the stator. A potting member is coupled to the stator, the end frame, and the potting cup to permanently bond the end frame, the potting cup, and the stator to one another.

Air cooled electric motor

An electric motor assembly. A stator includes a set of windings and has a first end, a second end, and an outer radial surface. A rotor includes a shaft having an axis. A first frame supports the shaft at a first axial position. A canopy substantially surrounds the first frame. The canopy includes a fluid inlet and a fluid discharge. A second frame supports the shaft at a second axial position and includes at least one fluid outlet. A chute is positioned downstream of the canopy fluid discharge. The chute directs fluid flow along the outer radial surface of the stator towards the fluid outlet. A fan is coupled to the shaft downstream of the fluid outlet for rotation with the shaft.
