A visual assistive stand includes a base; a vertical arm; and a horizontal attachment arm. The base has a configured receptacle for attaching the vertical arm. The vertical arm and the base have a detachable magnetic attachment. The horizontal attachment arm includes magnets.

Stand and system for assisting visual perception

An apparatus for supplying toner material to a developer unit of an electrophotographic system that is mounted within a drawer and pivotable within the drawer about a longitudinal pivot axis between an active position and a non-active position includes a pivot stack connected to the developer unit at its lower end, pivoting within the developer unit about the pivot axis, said pivot stack, and having a toner passage therethrough. The apparatus also includes means for retaining the upper end of the pivot stack in a position fixed with respect to the pivot axis and means for sealing the lower end of the toner stack to the developer unit to prevent leakage of toner. The apparatus can also include a mount fixed with respect to a chassis of the system and connected to the outlet end of a toner conduit coupled to the toner reservoir, means for releasably engaging the upper end of the pivot stack that is supported on the mount for limited movement perpendicular to the longitudinal axis, and a first passage connecting the outlet end of the conduit and having an outlet end with the pivot stack when the developer unit is in the operative position, and means for sealing the outlet end of the first passage when the developer unit is in the service position.

Connection between movable developer unit and stationary toner reservoir

An apparatus for storing marking particles is described which includes a container defining a chamber for storing the marking particles therein and having an opening defined therein for the discharge of the marking particles therefrom. The apparatus further includes a seal member secured to the container, the seal member having an opening defined therein which is at least partially coextensive with the opening of the container for the passage of marking particles therethrough. Moreover, the apparatus includes a cover positionable over the opening defined in the seal member, the cover being removably secured to the seal member with an adhesive material.

Apparatus for storing marking particles

A development apparatus having an active airflow system for generating negative air pressure to create an airflow out of a developer housing, drawing airborne contaminants from the developer housing. A developer system includes a plurality of developer housings being selectively moved into operative and inoperative poitions for development of a latent image on a photoconductive surface. As each developer housing is moved into and out of its operative position, an air duct is rotated in response to this movement for interfacing with, or sealing off, airflow through the housing, as appropriate. An apparatus of this type is used in a multi-color electrostatographic printing machine where succesive latent images are developed with different color developer material, thus preventing respective color developer materials from intermingling during the development process.

Active airflow system for development apparatus

An apparatus in which a latent image is developed with magnetic developer material. A rotating applicator roll transports the developer material. A magnet is mounted rotatably interiorly of the applicator roll and generates a magnetic flux field which attracts the developer material to a portion of the surface of the applicator roll. The magnet rotates under the influence of the magnetic flux field force applied thereon. When the apparatus is developing the latent image, the magnet is prevented from rotating in a first position wherein the magnetic flux field attracts the developer material to the portion of the applicator roll adjacent the latent image. Conversely, when the apparatus is not developing the latent image, the magnet is prevented from rotating in a second position wherein the magnetic flux field attracts the developer material to the portion of the applicator roll spaced from the latent image. An apparatus of this type is particularly useful in color electrophotographic printing wherein successive electrostatic latent images are developed with different color developer materials. In a color printing machine, one color developer material is being developed on the latent image with the other color developer materials being spaced from the latent image to prevent intermingling of colors.

Developer unit having an indexable magnet

An apparatus in which a latent image is developed with developer material. An applicator roller has developer material adhering releasably to at least a portion of the exterior surface thereof. The applicator roller rotates and translates from an non-operative position spaced from the latent image to an operative position closely adjacent the latent image. In this way, the applicator roller transports developer material to the latent image. After development is completed, rotation and translation of the applicator roller is reversed to return the applicator roller to the non-operative position terminating development. An apparatus of this type is used in a multicolor electrophotographic printing machine wherein successive latent images are developed with different color developer materials and the respective developer materials are prevented from co-mingling on the same latent image.
