A method for audio distortion processing is provided, whereby narrowband and wideband gains are incrementally reduced and recovered for controlling audio distortion of an audio reproduction system. Reduction limits are determined for both the narrowband and wideband gains, as a function of operator controlled inputs. If clipping is detected, the narrowband gain is initially reduced until either the narrowband gain reduction limit has been achieved or the clipping desists. The wideband gain is subsequently reduced if the reduction limit of the narrowband gain has been achieved and the clipping persists. The wideband gain is reduced until either the wideband gain reduction limit has been achieved or the clipping desists. After the clipping desists, a gain recovery process ensues, whereby the wideband gain is initially recovered until at its original level and the narrowband gain is subsequently recovered until reaching its original level.

Radio distortion processing

A method and radio receiver provide matching of output levels for a plurality of receiver input sources. The method includes the step of creating alignment information for the plurality of input sources. The method further provides for storing the alignment information in a computer readable memory, and converting a required output level into a matched output level. The matched output level is based on the alignment information contained in the computer readable memory corresponding to the selected input source, and the required output level is obtained from a volume control setting. Thus, creation, storage, and retrieval of alignment information allows for real-time matching of output levels for multiple input sources.

Audio level matching of different radio input sources

A method and apparatus for determining unique fuel amount limit values for a fuel tank of a particular vehicle. The fuel tank has a first fuel amount limit that is associated with a level of fuel in the fuel tank. A fuel varying activity is performed related to the fuel tank of the vehicle so that the level of fuel in the fuel tank is beyond the first fuel amount level. A second fuel amount limit is determined based upon the level of fuel that is beyond the first fuel amount level. A fuel amount indicator display is adjusted based upon the determined second fuel amount.
