A method and apparatus for operating a microwave dryer having a rotating drum with radially inwardly extending baffles for tumbling and turning over clothes, the baffles housing microwave magnetron tubes for emitting microwaves into the drum. Air can be circulated through the drum via air passages through the baffles and into the drum. The air drawn through the baffles also cools the magnetron tubes. An inner door closes the drum tightly and rotates with the drum. An outer door closes the cabinet entry and is rotatably connected to the inner door.

Method and apparatus for operating a microwave dryer

A spin brake and brake release mechanism for an automatic washer or other spinning drive mechanism has a pair of brake shoes applied by a spring but released by a rotating cam mechanism. The brake operating mechanism rotates with the spin basket. The brake drum is connected to the stationary parts of the machine. As the release cam rotates, it acts against cam follower areas of the brake shoes to release the shoes from the drum.

Automatic washer basket brake mechanism

A suspension for an automatic clothes washer tub which supports the clothes container, agitator and driving mechanism, comprises a combination skate and rocking support device, the machine frame supporting the device for horizontal movement and the device supporting the tub for rocking movements. Connection of the tub with the device is effected by means of oblique cooperating surfaces on the tub support structure and on the device in generally pyramidal orientation and providing substantial stability for the tub in normal operation of the machine. Biasing means between the tub and the frame normally biases the tub and the device toward an equilibrium position.
