In a control system for operating a pump, the pump is pneumatically driven to pump hydraulic fluid to pressurize a closed vessel. The control system includes inlet and outlet ports, a pneumatic regulator, a pressure transducer, and control circuitry. The inlet and outlet ports are configured to receive inlet and output outlet pressurized air, respectively. The outlet pressurized air powers the pump. The pneumatic regulator is disposed between the ports, and configured to receive the inlet air and output the outlet air. The pneumatic regulator includes a valve that modulates pneumatic pressure based on a control signal. The pressure transducer provides a hydraulic pressure signal indicative of pressure at the output of the pump. The control circuitry is configured to adjust a parameter of the control signal based on this hydraulic pressure signal, and output the control signal to the pneumatic regulator to indirectly control operation of the pump.

Vessel pressure testing system

A metering pump includes a motor having a motor shaft extending through a drive housing, a carriage assembly disposed around the motor shaft and within the drive housing, a plunger return block mounted to the carriage assembly, a piston disposed along an axis, a carriage bearing disposed on the motor shaft and within the carriage assembly and slidably coupled to the carriage assembly, a cam coupled to the motor shaft to rotate with the motor shaft, and a bearing disposed around the cam to rotate therewith and to contact the stroke adjuster and the plunger return block. The piston also includes a stroke adjuster mounted to the carriage assembly, a plunger having a button-shaped protrusion end, and a drive shaft having a first end connected to the stroke adjuster and a second end having a hook protrusion configured to receive and engage the plunger button-shaped protrusion end.

Two piece pump rod

A pneumatic timing valve includes a spool and seal system having a first seal cartridge and a spool. The first seal cartridge has an annular body with radial ports. The spool is positioned within the first seal cartridge and movable between a first and second position. The spool has a central bore and radial ports that intersect the central bore. The radial ports of the spool complement the radial ports of the seal cartridge. The seal cartridge radial ports, the spool radial ports, and the central bore of the spool define fluid flow passages.

Pneumatic timing valve

A system includes a fixed-displacement fluid pump, a motor operatively connected to the fixed-displacement fluid pump, a sensor configured to sense a parameter related to a drive speed of the motor, and a user interface. The pump controller is configured to receive an input from the user interface of a target flow rate of the pump, determine a duty cycle for the motor based on the target flow rate, and control the motor to operate according to the duty cycle. The pump controller is further configured to receive an indication of the sensed parameter related to the drive speed of the motor, determine a measured drive speed of the motor based on the sensed parameter, and iteratively adjust the duty cycle based on a difference between the measured drive speed of the motor and an expected drive speed of the motor.

Adaptive flow control

A metering pump includes a motor having a motor shaft extending through a drive housing, a carriage assembly disposed around the motor shaft and within the drive housing, a plunger return block mounted to the carriage assembly, a piston disposed along an axis, and a carriage bearing disposed on the motor shaft and within the carriage assembly, slidably coupled to the carriage assembly, and configured to provide a second contact point for maintaining the alignment of the carriage assembly with the axis of the piston. The piston further includes a stroke adjuster mounted to the carriage assembly to provide a first contact point for maintaining the alignment of the carriage assembly with the piston, a drive shaft connected to the stroke adjuster, and a plunger connected to the drive shaft. The metering pump also includes a cam coupled to the motor shaft to rotate with the motor shaft and a bearing disposed around the cam to rotate therewith and to contact the stroke adjuster and the plunger return block.

Pump transmission carriage assembly

In one example, an electrostatic spray gun includes a spray tip assembly, an alternator, an electrode, and at least one controller. The alternator includes a stator having an inner diameter and an outer diameter. The alternator further includes a rotor disposed within the inner diameter of the stator and configured to rotate within the stator to cause the alternator to generate alternating electrical current. The electrode, positioned proximate the spray tip assembly, is coupled to receive electrical energy from the alternator. The at least one controller is coupled to the alternator and is configured to output a representation of a rotational speed of the rotor.
