A system for delivering energy to a patient's body includes a plurality of probes, a touch-sensitive display screen, and a controller communicatively coupled to each of the probes and the display screen. The controller is configured to perform operations including displaying a plurality of dynamically sized channel control regions within a user interface of the touch-sensitive display screen. Each of the plurality of channel control regions corresponds with at least one of the plurality of probes and is sized based at least in part on a number of the plurality of probes. The operations can include detecting a user touch action directed to a user-selected channel control region of the plurality of dynamically sized channel control regions. The operations can include performing a control action associated with the probe(s) that correspond with the user-selected channel control region when the user touch action is detected.

System and method for an improved graphical user interface that provides independent control of multiple radiofrequency probes during an ablation procedure

A system for delivering energy to a patient's body is disclosed that includes a plurality of probes, a touch-sensitive display screen, and a controller communicatively coupled to each of the probes and the display screen. The controller is configured to perform operations including displaying a virtual control object in the user interface of the touch-sensitive display screen that is associated with an operating parameter of a treatment procedure performed with the probe. The controller is configured to adjust the operating parameter when a user touch action is directed to the virtual control object. The controller is configured to convert the virtual control object into a non-control label based, at least in part, on a current status of the treatment procedure. The controller is configured to prohibit adjustment of the operating parameter using the non-control label in response to a user touch action that is directed to the non-control label.

System and method for a graphical user interface that provides improved control and visualization for an ablation procedure

A system for delivering energy to a patient's body is disclosed that includes a plurality of probes, a touch-sensitive display screen, and a controller communicatively coupled to each of the probes and the display screen. Devices for insertion into a stoma formed in a patient's body are provided, comprising a tube having distal and proximal ends and defining a path for movement of waste. To retain the device in the stoma and seal the stoma, the tube includes a retention mechanism located on the distal end and/or a sealing mechanism extending along a length of the tube between the proximal and distal ends. Collection apparatus for collecting waste from a patient's body also are provided, comprising a waste pouch and a connector for connecting the collection apparatus to a device inserted into a stoma. Additionally, waste collection systems for collecting waste from a patient's body are provided, comprising a tube for insertion into a stoma and a waste pouch. Each system may comprise a separate tube and waste pouch or the tube and waste pouch may be formed as an integral, inseparable component.

A system and method for delivering energy to a patient's body includes a plurality of probes each having an elongate member with a distal region having an electrically non-conductive outer circumferential portion and a proximal region. Each of the plurality of probes further includes an electrically conductive energy delivery device extending distally from the electrically non-conductive outer circumferential portion for delivering one of electrical and radiofrequency energy to the patient's body. The energy delivery devices further include an electrically conductive outer circumferential surface. The system also includes at least one controller communicatively coupled to each of the plurality of probes. The controller includes a user interface having a control screen. The control screen includes an independent control module and a simultaneous control module that allows a user to select between independent control or simultaneous control of the plurality of probes.

Sterilization packaging systems with features for sealing a volume against an ingress of contaminants are provided. Such features include a frame including a plurality of vertical members and a plurality of horizontal members, each vertical member and horizontal member having an inner side and an outer side; a sterilization wrap, a first portion of the sterilization wrap positioned adjacent the inner side of each vertical member and each horizontal member to define a volume and an opening to access the volume; and a lid for sealing the volume against an ingress of contaminants. Additionally, a sterility gauge for signaling whether the volume is sealed against contaminants also may be provided. Exemplary sterilization packaging systems may include other features as well.

Sterilization packaging systems with features for sealing a volume against an ingress of contaminants are provided. Such features include a sealing assembly, where the sealing assembly includes a sheet of sterilization material and a clamp for sealing the sheet of sterilization material against a container to seal the volume of the container from contaminants. Also provided is a sealing assembly including a sheet of sterilization material and a clamp having open position and clamped positions. The clamp is configured to extend about a perimeter of a container, the sheet of sterilization material is disposed between the container and the clamp when the clamp is in the clamped position to seal a volume of the container, and the clamp is held in the clamped position by a latch. Exemplary sterilization packaging systems may include other features as well.

A subglottic suctioning system with a tracheal tube having a ventilation lumen, a cuff inflation lumen, and a suction lumen are disclosed which may help reduce the incidence of ventilator associated (or acquired) pneumonia. The suction lumen communicates with the space in the trachea above the cuff where secretions accumulate. The suction lumen has a valve on the proximal end for connection to a source of vacuum. The valve is adapted to interrupt the supply of vacuum to the suction lumen to allow for the introduction of a rinsing fluid in its place and to automatically re-establish the connection to the source of vacuum upon completion of rinsing. The rinsing fluid aids in maintaining an open suction lumen and may include medicaments and mucolytic agents to enhance or promote healing or to alter the properties of the mucus to make removal easier. The user may easily and repeatedly alternate suction and rinsing fluid through the suction lumen, i.e., the user may 'pulse' the line to loosen, break up and remove secretions and deposits that may partially or completely block or clog the suction lumen.

A device for cleaning the interior wall of a catheter has a cleaning lumen and a non-inflatable removal element comprising a sliding collar that has a first location as the cleaning lumen advances and a second location as the cleaning lumen retracts within the catheter. A sliding collar has a first position when unconstrained and a second position when within the catheter. The removal element self-positions the device concentrically within the catheter. Suction is desirably applied to the cleaning lumen during use.

There is provided a system having a sputum trap or container that is used to transfer a portion of a sample to a sample slide. The container has a body with a top and bottom. The bottom is adapted to accept the sample slide. The bottom also has a one way valve to allow transfer of a portion of the sample to the sample slide upon manipulation of the body by a user. In certain embodiments, the body may be manipulated by squeezing it or by pushing down on the top. The bottom of the container is adapted to receive the sample slide so that the sample can be transferred to it.
