A quick release buckle assembly has a male portion that is inserted into a female portion. Each female portion has a cavity and at a spring-loaded locking device disposed within the cavity. Each male portion has a base with a locking tongue having an aperture, such that inserting the male portion into the open top of the female portion causes the locking device to snap into the aperture in the locking tongue to lock the two buckle portions together. To release the buckle portions, the locking device is pulled upward, in a direction that is between 45 to 90 degrees to the insertion plane of the female portion, until the locking device clears the aperture in the locking tongue. The motion required to release the male portion from the female portion ensures that the buckle will not be inadvertently released by catching on something in the environment.

Quick release buckle assembly

A quick release buckle assembly has a male portion and a female portion. The male portion is inserted into the female portion to lock the buckle assembly together. The male buckle portion is connected to a cable. Pulling the cable with sufficient force causes the male portion to release from the female portion. Several buckle assemblies can be simultaneously released if the cables are connected to a single handle. Pulling on the handle then releases all of the male portions at once.

A quick release buckle assembly has a male portion and a female portion. The female portion has a hollow body and at least one locking slot. The male portion has a base with at least one locking leg, such that inserting the male portion into the female portion causes the locking leg to engage the locking slot to lock the male portion to the female portion. The male portion has a lever pivotably connected to the male portion, and a free end with a tongue extending into an interior of the male portion. The male portion has an engaging element connected to a free end of the locking legs and contacting the tongue, so that lifting the free end of the lever causes the tongue to push the engaging element toward the base of the male portion and move the locking legs inward to release the male portion from the female portion.

A buckle assembly has a female buckle portion formed by a housing with a hollow interior and at least two openings, and at least two male buckle portions, each having at least one locking leg. There is an actuating device disposed within the housing and accessible through an aperture in the housing. The actuating device has latching mechanisms for cooperating with the locking legs for locking the male buckle portions within the female buckle portion when the locking legs of the male portions are inserted through the openings of the housing. Pulling the actuating device toward the aperture moves the latching mechanisms away from the male buckle portions and releases the male buckle portions from the housing.

A buckle having a male portion and a female portion. The male portion has two sidewalls, first and second retaining bars and at least one locking arm. There is a slidable and pivotable strap gripping bar disposed adjacent the first strap retaining bar. The strap gripping bar is adapted to slide between a release position and a gripping position. The female portion comprises a hollow body with an open end and at least one locking slot for receiving the locking arm. When the male portion is inserted into the female portion, the locking arm locks into the locking slot and the female portion pushes the strap gripping bar into a gripping position, which grips a strap threaded through the retaining bars, and prevents the strap from slipping. When the male portion is released from the female portion, the strap gripping bar slides into the release position and allows adjustment of the strap.

Male buckle portion

A buckle has a male and a female portion. The female portion has a hollow body with two sidewalls, an open receiving end and a locking end with an opening formed from the side walls. The opening is wider in a central area than at its ends. The male portion has at least one locking arm with a free end and a locking tab. Inserting the male portion into the female portion compresses locking arm, causing the locking tab to extend through the opening in the locking end. Inserting the male portion fully into the female portion causes tab to rest against one of the narrow ends of the opening in the locking end, to lock the male portion to the female portion. Pulling the male portion against the female portion causes the tab to lock even more firmly against the edges of the opening to prevent inadvertent disengagement.

A buckle comprises a male portion and a female portion, the female portion having a top face, a bottom face and a cavity for accepting the male portion. The male portion is adapted to snap into the female portion to lock the two portions of the buckle together. At least one face of the female portion is formed from an integrally molded screen made of the same material as the rest of the female portion and having a thickness that is less than a thickness of the female portion. The screen reduces the weight of the buckle, making it more comfortable for the user as well as less expensive to manufacture.
