A connector housing includes a contact housing receptacle and a contact housing disposed in the contact housing receptacle. The contact housing has a movable contact securing flap. The contact securing flap is disposed inside the contact housing receptacle and is movable between an open position, in which the electrical contact units are unlocked in the connector housing, and a locking position in which the contact units are locked in the connector housing.

A terminal device has a housing of insulating material, the housing surrounding a portion of the cable end of a sleeve and having a flange directed towards a terminal receptacle. There is additionally provided an inner shield sleeve of conductive material arranged in the housing and surrounding the cable, the inner shield sleeve is connected conductively to a shield of the cable and which has a flanged contact zone directed towards the terminal receptacle. Fastening screws are used simultaneously to press the housing and the flanged contact zone, resting on the housing, of the inner shield sleeve axially against a shield housing of the terminal receptacle.

Electrical plug and method of fitting the plug

The present invention relates to an electrical connector having a male connector part and a female connector part, the male connector part having a contact pin and a first base member and the female connector part having a contact socket and a second base member, and the contact pin being insertable into the contact socket in order to effect electrical connection between the male connector part and the female connector part. In order to provide an electrical connector which compensates any offset between female connector part and male connector part resulting from assembly tolerances without damage thereto during mating, the contact pin and/or the contact socket is/are mounted movably in the respective base member. The contact socket is therefore protected against unintentional contact when the contact pin is not inserted, the female connector part also has closing elements, which close the contact socket, and the contact pin comprises an insertion bevel, which exerts uniform, radially outwardly directed mechanical pressure on the closing elements upon insertion of the contact pin into the contact socket and thereby releases the closing elements.

The present invention relates to an electrical connector which at least partially receives a foil with printed conductors embedded therein, and comprises an insulating housing with an insertion aperture for the foil and at least one foil contact with a contact section for contacting the printed conductors. The foil contact has a connection section for connection to an electric component and an actuating zone to receive mechanical pressure. To ensure reliable contacting and inexpensive production and simplified assembly of the components, the foil contact is bent as one piece from a punched spring sheet and has at its first contact arm an end section which is bent approximately to a U-shape, which can be brought into contact with the two contact arms by mechanical pressure. According to the invention, the connector also comprises an actuator to actuate this foil contact in which retaining webs are integrally formed which penetrate the foil when the actuator is closed. Finally, a connector is proposed in which the housing comprises a connector part and a collar part separated therefrom.

A central electrical assembly with an electrical or electronics unit is specified, which can be used in particular for motor vehicles; the central electrical assembly being of modular construction. A contact supporting body forming one module and being used to accommodate contacts or plugs with contacts which produce the connection between electrical cables and the central electrical assembly, a relay and fuse box being another module, having at least one conductor track level and plug-in slots for accommodating electrical devices, the relay and fuse box and the electrical or electronics unit being connectable with a central lifting screw to the contact supporting body in such a manner that the connections are produced between the electrical cables and the central electrical assembly, in particular the conductor track levels and the plug-in slots.

Central electrical assembly

An electrical connector assembly is comprised of an insulating housing for fixed mounting within an automotive body behind panel walls. A mating connector has a housing portion and a peripheral shroud. The shroud has integral latches which retain the shroud and housing together, and the shroud includes latches which retain the shroud to the panel. Actuating lugs are positioned on the front of the housing portion and are profiled for receipt within a groove on a camming slide. The latches hold the shroud and housing together during the actuation of the lugs and the camming slide. When the latches are locked behind the panel wall, the shroud inner surface contacts the panel wall, whereby the latches break free of the corresponding lugs on the housing. Continued actuation of the U-shaped camming slide moves the connector housing into fully locked position, leaving the shroud positioned against the wall.

Automotive door-to-body electrical connector

An electronic control assembly has a control box, a control module insertable into the control box and an electrical connector which is pivotally mounted within the box, between a position where the control module can be inserted into the box adjacent to the connector and between a position where the electrical connector is in electrical engagement with the electronic module. The electrical connector is pivotally mounted in the control box and includes a lower mounting leg having outer pinion portions which are positioned in a trunnion located in adjacent side walls forming a channel for the receipt of the connector and the module. The electronic module is in precise registration with the connector member, such that when the connector is pivoted into place, the electrical elements within the connector and the electronic module are in precise alignment.

An electrical connector assembly includes a first housing half having an opened end face formed by upstanding side walls where inner surfaces of the side walls have camming grooves formed on the inner surfaces thereof. The grooves emanate from the opened end face and one groove has a laterally extending slot portion in communication with an inclined slot portion whereas a second camming slot is comprised of an inclined slot portion only. The housing portion includes a camming slide which is slidable moveable within a slot portion of the housing portion. The camming slide includes side arms having camming spigots positioned thereon. The housing portion is insertable through the open end face and movement of the camming slide positions the spigots in the inclined portion of the slot and the spigot portion and the inclined slot portion whereby the connector halves are drawn together in mated relation.

Latching mechanism for blindmate electrical connectors

An electrical connector includes at least one contact element (11) for electrically connecting to a data line. The contact element (11) has at one end a contact portion (13), and at the opposing end a conductor terminating portion (15) which has at least two crimping portions (17,19). The crimping portions are used to terminate respective electrical conductors (51,53). The configuration of the crimping portions allow the respective electrical conductors to be terminated to the crimping portions through the use of high speed automated equipment.
