A crushing device for crushing material such as scrap metal and refuse has a housing with a material feeding section and a material removal section for removing crushed material. A shaft with a rotor connected thereto is rotatably supported in the housing. The rotor comprises crushing members. The housing has abutments for cooperating with the crushing members. The feeding section is positioned below a horizontal plane in which the shaft is positioned. An outlet is positioned, when viewed in the rotational direction of the rotor, directly adjacent to and lower than the material feeding section for at least partially replacing the removal section.

Crushing device especially for scrap metal

A scrap crushing machine comprises crushing device including a crusher rotor and at least one associated anvil, a housing accommodating the crushing device, the housing having an inlet opening and an outlet opening, a base arranged substantially under the rotor and extending from the inlet opening to the outlet opening, and an upper cover arranged substantially above the rotor and extending from the outlet opening to the inlet opening so as to define with the rotor a return chamber, separating device arranged in the outlet opening, an outlet connected with the outlet opening, and a flap arranged behind the rotor as considered in direction of rotation of the rotor and having a separating edge. The flap is swivelable to at least one operating position in which it feeds sufficiently crushed scrap pieces passing through the separating device mainly to the outlet and feeds insufficiently crushed scrap pieces mainly to the return chamber, the flap being also swivelable to an open position in which insufficiently crushed scrap pieces are also fed to the outlet.

Scrap crushing machine

A sorting apparatus for the material outlet of a machine for breaking-up scrap. The machine has a horizontally disposed hammer breaker rotor that is disposed in a housing, the bottom of which is trough-shaped. A material inlet that extends to the rotor and includes an anvil is produced at the downwardly rotating side of the rotor. An impact or deflection chamber having an outlet opening is disposed above the rotor. The housing has a curved inner surface portion in the bottom trough, and a further inner surface that adjoins the curved inner surface portion and is on the upwardly rotating side of the rotor. The further inner surface is provided with ribs that are disposed parallel to the direction of movement of broken-up scrap. The open distance between adjacent ribs is approximately equal to the greatest desired diameter of broken-up and compressed scrap pieces. Channels are formed between adjacent ribs for respective streams of broken-up scrap. A deflector rim is disposed above the ribs and extends parallel to the axis of rotation of the rotor. The deflector rim, in conjunction with the further inner surface of the housing, defines unobstructed openings for the upper ends of the channels, with these unobstructed openings being adjustable during operation of the machine.

Lifting mechanism for a crusher having a two-part machine housing and a horizontal rotor with striking tools, where the plane of separation between the lower housing part and the upper housing part of the machine extends through the plane of the central axis of the rotor, where the upper housing part of the machine can be raised about a pivot axis that is disposed parallel to the axis of the rotor via piston-cylinder units that are disposed on both sides, and can be fixed in the raised position, and where the base of each of the two rotor shaft bearing housings is detachably secured to a floor stand on the lower housing part of the machine; the piston of each piston-cylinder unit is pivotably connected with a pivot arm mounted on the side of the upper housing part of the machine, with the free end of each pivot arm being fixable, via a securing mechanism, on the upper housing part of the machine in two different positions, and with the underside of each pivot arm being provided with a coupling mechanism for coupling the rotor bearing housing.
