A method and a device for regulating a continuous casting system. The continuous casting system has a mold () and a strand guide () which is arranged downstream of the mold (). Molten metal () is cast into the mold (), in particular via an inlet device (). The molten metal hardens on walls () of the mold (), such that a metal strand () with a hardened strand shell () and a still liquid core () is formed. The metal strand () is drawn out of the mold () by mutually spaced rollers () of the strand guide (), and a measurement variable is ascertained which correlates to the undulation of the casting level formed in the mold. The measurement variable is processed using at least one computing specification and is used to reduce the undulation of the casting level. In order to reduce the undulations of the casting level, the mutual spacing of opposing rollers () of the strand guide is changed cyclically prior to the full hardening point (D).

Method and device for regulating a continuous casting machine

A method is disclosed for continuously or semi-continuously producing hot steel strip which, starting from a slab guided through a slab-guiding device, is rolled in a roughing train having at least four-stands, the method comprising: casting a slab in a die, the slab being reduced to a thickness of between 60 and 95 mm in a liquid core reduction process by the adjoining slab-guiding device, a slab support length measured between the meniscus, i.e., the bath level, of the die and an end of the slab-guiding device facing the roughing train being between 12 m and 15.5 m, and a casting speed ranging from 3.8 to 7 m/min. The disclosed combination of casting parameters may ensure that the crater tip of the slab extends to the vicinity of the end of the slab-guiding device independently of the respective maximum casting speeds which are dependent on the particular grade of material.

Method and plant for the energy-efficient production of hot steel strip

A method is disclosed for continuously or semi-continuously producing hot steel strip which, starting from a slab guided through a slab-guiding device, is rolled in, for example, an at least four-stand roughing train to form an intermediate strip and, in a further sequence in a finish rolling train, into a final strip. The thickness of a slab cast in a die is reduced in the liquid core reduction process by means of the adjoining slab-guiding device to between 85 and 120 mm, a slab support length measured between the meniscus, i.e., the bath level, of the die and an end of the slab-guiding device facing the roughing train being at least 18.5 m, a casting speed ranging from 3.8 to 7 m/min, and slabs of different thicknesses being cast as a function of given casting speeds. Using the disclosed casting parameters, high-quality finishing may be provided with high production capacities.

Energy and yield-optimized method and plant for producing hot steel strip

In the case of a strand guiding roller with at least one roller shell and with at least two supporting shafts, two supporting shafts being respectively connected in a rotationally fixed manner to a roller shell and each supporting shaft being rotatably supported in a supporting bearing, to achieve a type of construction that is simple and can withstand the high thermal and mechanical loading that occurs, it is proposed that the roller shell is connected in a rotationally fixed manner to the supporting shafts carrying it on both sides by shrink-fit connections or by press-fit connections.

A process for producing a continuous-casting plant for producing these products and a submerged nozzle therefor and a continuously cast primary product, in particular broad slabs, having a thickness of the primary product D&#x3e;100 mm and a width of the primary product B=2700 mm to 3500 mm at a casting rate v&#x3c;2 m/min in a continuous-casting plant. To achieve uniform solidification conditions for the cast strand and uniform melting and distribution conditions for the casting powder, molten material leaves the submerged nozzle through opposite outlet openings with a momentum which is directed toward the narrow side walls a mold, and for a defined width:thickness ratio of the primary product, as a function of the ratio of the velocity of the molten material in the core cross section of the submerged nozzle (v) to the casting rate (v), design values for the width (b) of the submerged nozzle and the height (h) of the lateral outlet opening of the submerged nozzle are selected in such a way that a uniform strand shell is formed in the casting direction and peripheral direction along the wide side walls and narrow side walls of the permanent mold.

Method for the production of a continously-cast precursor

A continuous casting mold for continuous casting of a steel billet. Opposite spaced apart wide side walls and opposite spaced apart narrow side walls between the wide side walls and clampable at the wide side walls and also displacable along the wide side walls transversely to the casting direction, the narrow side walls being narrow wedged-shaped in the casting direction.
