An electrostatic hand-held spray gun with a body consisting of a barrel affixed at a selected angle to a handle. The barrel has a boring which terminates at an atomizer. The handle contains a boring which at a lower end terminates in a hose connection and at an upper end at a control valve. A second end of the barrel boring also terminates at the valve. The control valve is operable by a trigger rotatably affixed to the handle and controls the flow of color material through the boring in the barrel. A spray electrode is located adjacent the atomizer. A tubular trigger guard structure is located near the second end of the barrel in front of the trigger and is oriented at a selected angle with respect to the barrel. A high voltage cascade multiplier module and a step-up transformer module are removably mounted within the trigger guard. A low voltage cable brought into a lower end of the trigger guard provides power to drive the step-up transformer. The step-up transformer outputs an intermediate voltage, high frequency, signal to drive the high voltage multiplier circuitry. The output of the high voltage multiplier circuitry is connected by a conductor, through a current limiting resistor to the electrode adjacent the atomizer.

Electrostatic spray pistol

A compact portable hand held and operated container for household use in dispensing hair spray, cosmetics and the like has a battery operated electric motor driven pump ejecting the contents of the container in mist or spray form through a nozzle without use of an aerosol propellant.

Household spray apparatus

A spray gun construction, comprises a housing part which is interconnected with a container part at its front end and a handle part at its rear end which has an actuating button. The housing part has a suction bore and a return bore located in fixed spaced apart relationship and a spray nozzle and surge chamber member which has a suction line connection which extends into the spray bore and a return line connection which extends into the return bore which alone or in combination with other pin and peg arrangements permit interconnection and alignment of the nozzle with the associated surge chamber on the housing in connection with a container or reservoir member containing the liquid to be sprayed. In addition, a U-shaped bridge member is pin- or peg-connected into the first housing to the rear of the spray nozzle and surge chamber member and it carries an electromagnetic pump which includes a coil portion mounted on the bridge member with an armature which is pivoted on the coil portion and actuates a piston member which is mounted for sliding movement on the bridge member so that the piston thereof moves backwardly and forwardly in the surge chamber.

Spray gun construction

A safety nozzle assembly for airless paint spray pistols including a guard member which extends downstream of the pistol and which receives the nozzle member in one end. The guard member has an increasing cross-section downstream of the nozzle accommodating a fan spray from the nozzle, the guard member having a generally flattened oval cross-section downstream of the nozzle and terminating in a discharge end which is arcuately curved along a radius generated adjacent the nozzle.
