The present invention relates to a catalyst composition for the reaction of hydrocarbons comprising a zeolite with has a faujasite structure and a fibrous zeolite which comprises essentially non-crossing one-dimensional channels. Further, the catalyst composition comprises in a preferred embodiment a metal component selected from metals of the group VIB and VIII of the periodic table of elements and their compounds. The invention relates further to a process for the synthesis of such a catalyst composition and to a process for hydrocracking hydrocarbon feedstocks by using said catalyst composition.

Catalyst composition for hydrocracking and process of mild hydrocracking and ring opening

A process is described for producing synthetic zeolites useful as catalysts with a MFI structure, a Si/Al atomic ratio from about 8 to 45 to 1 and very small primary crystallites. A Si source, an Al source and an organic template are reacted with one another under hydrothermal conditions. The process is carried out in the presence of seed crystals with an average particle size from roughly 10 to 100 nm, preferably from 20 to 50 nm, prepared from an earlier batch of synthetic zeolites with a MFI structure, without separation from the mother liquor. The process further includes conversion by ion exchange of the zeolites into an H form. Moldings may also be produced by the addition of binders and optionally catalytically active base metal and/or precious metal components before or after the moldings are produced. Process for producing synthetic zeolites with MFI structure

A catalyst is described based on crystalline aluminosilicates of the pentasil type, characterized in that it is constructed from primary crystallites with an average diameter of at least 0.01 &#x3bc;m and less than 0.1 &#x3bc;m, that are combined to at least 20% to agglomerates of 5 to 500 &#x3bc;m, in which the primary crystallites or agglomerates are bonded together by finely divided aluminum oxide, that its BET surface is 300 to 600 m/g and its pore volume (determined according to mercury porosimetry) is 0.3 to 0.8 cm/g, that it is present in H form and that the amount of finely divided aluminum oxide binder is 10 to 40 wt. %, referred to the total weight of the aluminosilicate, in which the finely divided aluminum oxide binder is used in the reaction charge as peptizable aluminum oxide hydrate, sodium aluminate being used as aluminum and alkali source, and primary synthesis of the crystalline aluminosilicate occurs without addition of acid. A method is also described for production of such a catalyst and its preferred applications.

The zeolites as claimed in the invention which are characterized by the combination of the following features: One development of the process as claimed in the invention is characterized in that the reaction product is converted by ion exchange into the H form, moldings produced with the addition of binders and optionally catalytically active base metal and/or precious metal components are added before or after the moldings are produced. The synthetic zeolites can be used as catalysts, especially as catalysts for acid-catalyzed reactions, oxidation, reduction and adsorption.

Process for producing synthetic zeolites with an MFI structure

Large crystal zeolites are prepared by heating a zeolite synthesis mixture under agitation to a temperature equal to or less than the effective nucleation temperature of the zeolite synthesis mixture and thereafter the zeolite synthesis mixture is heated without agitation to a temperature equal to or greater than the effective nucleation temperature of the zeolite synthesis mixture.
