A method for controlling the flow of data in a near field communication appliance having a plurality of secure elements is provided. The method includes receiving a first communication, sent by an external appliance, which is intended for an application located in one of a plurality of secure elements of the near field communication appliance. The method further includes determining which of the secure elements contains the application, and taking measures in order to ensure that a further communication exclusively between the external appliance and the secure element contains the addressed application. In addition, appropriate mobile terminals for NFC communication are disclosed.

Methods and appliances for forwarding communication between external appliances and secure elements using an interposed element and near field communication (NFC)

A method for controlling the flow of data in a near field communication appliance having an interposed element and a plurality of secure elements is disclosed. The method includes: receiving a first communication, sent by an external appliance, which is intended for an application located in one of the secure elements; determining whether a first one of the secure elements contains the application; and deactivating an interface from the interposed element to the first secure element if the first secure element does not contain the application. Corresponding systems and appliances for near field communication are also disclosed.

Interface deactivation for communication between electronic appliances

A method for controlling the flow of data in a near field communication appliance having an interposed element and a plurality of secure elements connected to the interposed element is disclosed. The method includes receiving a first communication at a first one of the secure elements. The first communication is sent by an external appliance and suited to an application located in one of the secure elements. The method further includes testing, by means of the first secure element, whether the first secure element contains the application. The first secure element is muted if the first secure element does not contain the application. A corresponding near field communication appliance and terminals are also disclosed.

Targeted muting for communication between electronic appliances

A communication method for the communication between two appliances which are set up for communication in a first communication mode is provided. The method includes sending an activation sequence in a second communication mode from the first to the second appliance in order to initiate communication based on the first communication mode; sending data from the second appliance to the first appliance based on the first communication mode. The activation sequence sent to the second appliance includes an initialization sequence and a request for data communication in the first communication mode. The apparatus further includes a verifier configured to verify the card key in the virtual card applications and to select a card application for communication with the card reader by means of a key match. An RFID transponder having an adjustable response field strength including a determination circuit formed to determine a quantity which is derivable from a field strength of an electromagnetic field prevailing at the location of the RFID transponder, a comparator formed to compare the determined quantity derived from the field strength with a threshold value, wherein the threshold value is based on the adjustable response field strength, which is higher than the minimum field strength required for the operation of the RFID transponder, and a deactivator formed to deactivate a functionality of the RFID transponder if the derived quantity falls below the threshold value.

A communication apparatus for communication according to a master-slave communication protocol is formed as a slave instance communicating with a master instance via a bus. The master instance is operative to switch the bus into a bus suspend state if no bus activity is present during a predetermined interval. In response to a bus suspend state, the slave instance makes a transition to a slave suspend state. The communication apparatus includes a monitor configured to monitor the bus activity and a transmitter configured to transmit a signal via the bus if the monitor does not recognize any bus activity during part of the predetermined interval and a transition of the slave instance to the slave suspend state is undesirable, wherein the signal is operative to prevent the master instance from switching the bus into the bus suspend state.

A master device for communicating with a number of slave devices through a communication link having a limited resource. The master device comprises a transceiver adapted for communicating with the slave devices on the communication link and a controller adapted for detecting the number of slave devices. The controller is adapted for determining an individual resource associated with a slave device to be consumed from the communication link, wherein a sum of the individual resources of all slave devices is lower than the limited resource and wherein the transceiver is adapted for assigning the individual resources to the associated slave devices.

The detector circuit has a transmitting device that transmits predetermined test data into the security-critical circuit components arranged in the lower plane, a receiving device that receives the data processed by the security-critical circuit components arranged in the lower plane, and an evaluation device that compares the received data with expected data and that ascertains any non-correspondence. The data lines carry the predetermined test data that is transmitted by the transmitting device and is processed by the security-critical circuit components.
