The invention relates to surgical gripping forceps with two gripping jaws movable relative to a main body, with each gripping jaw having a stationary pivot axis relative to the main body, and a lever arm, and with the lever arms being articulated via at least one push element. Each gripping jaw has its own pivot axis. The distance between the individual pivot axis and the midline of the main body is at least greater than 38% of the maximum width of the main body or the maximum diameter of the main body. The present invention also provides microsurgical gripping forceps that a substantial clamping force between the gripping jaws with customary force for actuating the forceps.

Surgical gripping forceps

Surgical gripping forceps are provided with one or two gripping jaws movable relative to a main body, wherein each moveable one of the gripping jaws has a pivot pin, fixed in position relative to the main body, and a lever arm. The lever arms are articulated via at least one push element. For this purpose each movable one of the gripping jaws has its own pivot pin. From the midline of the main body, the individual pivot pin has at least a distance greater than 38% of the maximum width of the main body or maximum diameter of the main body. The microsurgical gripping forceps operate with customary force for actuating the forceps, and permit a substantial applied clamping force.

A tool holder includes a hollow taper shank chucking device having a center axis, a chucking device, a tension rod which cooperates with the chucking device and an actuating unit by means of which the tension rod may be actuated, i.e., displaced. The actuating unit has an actuating element which is movable at an angle relative to the center axis and which includes at least one actuating part. The angle may be 90&#xb0;. The tension rod is provided with at least one engagement part. A coupling system between a tool system module, such as, for example, a tool receptacle, and a machine tool, such as, for example, a spindle. In order to provide for rapid initiation and release of the connection between these components while making large axial forces available, this incorporates a clamping system with an operating rod, by means of which a wedge drive is controlled, with which clamping elements that are provided in one of the parts that are to be coupled can be forced essentially radially outwards into suitably configured recesses in the other part that is to be coupled. The clamping elements are formed from at least three clamp-like clamping claws that are arranged at equal angular intervals from each other, these being arranged essentially parallel to a centering extension of the tool receptacle; while being supported in a centering recess of the spindle a claw section of these clamping claws that in the coupled state lies radially within the centering extension these can be pivoted into a groove-like recess of the centering extension. This coupling system is distinguished by great flexibility with regard to potential use and by the fact that it can be produced economically.

Described is a boring tool cooled from within made of a tool spiral and a clamping cylinder. The tool spiral is received in an interlocking way in a recess of the clamping cylinder and is supplied with coolant over its proximal end, which lies in the recess. The tool spiral (4; 44; 74) is received in a spring chuck (12) which, on the side facing away from the clamping cylinder, carries a drive disk (22; 62; 92) that engages in an interlocking way into the grooves. Further, the chuck body (14) has a central internal thread (26) in which an adjusting screw (24) having a central recess (32) is provided, an adjusting screw (24) against which the tool spiral under sealing of its coolant channels (8; 48; 78) can be pressed against the inner space (34) of the spring chuck (12). Tool spirals consisting, for example, of hard metal can be used more economically in this way.

A coupling between a tool head and a tool support exhibits, for rough positioning, a holding fixture pin connection. By at least one fastening bolt running in the axial direction of the tool support, the tool head is braced against the tool support. In doing so the fastening bolt engages through a first screw coupling with the tool head and through a second screw coupling with the tool support. The first and second screw couplings exhibit synchronized threads of differing pitch so that, when tightening the fastening bolt, the tool support and the tool head are braced against each other in the axial direction. Further, the fastening bolt exhibits a centering section which, in the assembled state of the coupling, centers the tool head relative to the tool support. The fastening bolt, in the assembled state of the coupling, is received in its entirety in the inside of the unit formed by the tool support and the tool head and is accessible only through a borehole. Advantageously, this borehole also acts as a coolant borehole. The coolant that flows through it during use accordingly rinses away impurities.

Described is a coupling device between a workpiece support or a tool support, such as for example a tool system module, for example in the form of a basic tool holding fixture, and a handling device, such as for example a machine tool, especially a spindle. For rapidly producing and releasing the connection between these components while making high axial forces available, a clamping device with an operating rod is provided by which a key mechanism is controlled, with which clamping elements provided in the part to be coupled can be pressed essentially radially outward into a suitably shaped recess on the other part to be coupled. The clamping elements are formed from at least three clamplike claw-type clamps placed at a uniform angular distance to each other, placed essentially parallel to a centering extension of the basic tool holding fixture and able to be pivoted, while being braced in a centering mounting of the spindle with a claw section lying radially inside the centering extension in the coupled state, into a groovelike recess of the centering extension. This coupling device is distinguished by a high flexibility with regard to application possibilities for producing them economically.
