An electronic device has terminals for interfacing internal signals to other electronic devices. Each terminal is electrically coupled to a terminal driver and a terminal control circuit for receiving a terminal configuration defining the properties and multiplexing of the terminal. The actual configuration of the terminal driver is set according to the terminal configuration. The device has at least one terminal checker arranged for comparing the actual configuration to at least one check configuration, the check configuration defining a configuration of the terminal driver that is either allowed or not allowed, and for, when said comparing indicates a not allowed configuration, setting the actual configuration to a default configuration. Advantageously safe operation of the device in a system is achieved by monitoring the configuration of the multiplexed terminals, and switching to a default configuration when in error.

Electronic device having multiplexed input/output terminals

An I/O cell comprising a first set of driver stages comprising, each driver stage of the first set comprising a high side switch controllable to couple an I/O node of the I/O cell to a first high voltage supply node and a low side switch controllable to couple the I/O node of the I/O cell to a first low voltage supply node. The I/O cell further comprising a second set of driver stages, each driver stage of the second set comprising a high side switch controllable to couple the I/O node of the I/O cell to a second high voltage supply node and a low side switch controllable to couple the I/O node of the I/O cell to a second low voltage supply node. The switches of the first set of driver stages are controllable independently of the switches of the second set of driver stages.

Input/output cell, integrated circuit device and methods of providing on-chip test functionality

The present application relates to a pulse generator for energizing an ultrasonic transducer, a method of operating thereof and an ultrasonic distance sensing system comprising the pulse generator. The pulse generator is arranged to generate an excitation pulse sequence comprising a first number of pulses; to generate a cancellation pulse sequence comprising at least a fractional pulse, wherein the cancellation pulse sequence has a phase shift of about 180&#xb0; in relation to the excitation pulse sequence; and to output at an output of the generator the excitation pulse sequence and the cancellation pulse sequence forming an energizing pulse sequence to the ultrasonic transducer.
