In a method for operating a round baler, the harvested crop flow is controlled at any time of the bale forming process by time control with the control and governing device of the round baler, based on a stored theoretical minimum time for pressing a harvested crop bale defined by predetermined parameters and based on actually determined harvested crop parameters, such that the harvested crop bale defined by the predetermined parameters is produced at maximum baler utilization in a nominal press time determined for the harvested crop bale.

Agricultural round baler

An agricultural round baler has a press chamber with inlet and rear outlet for ejecting a bale. A pressing device in the press chamber causes the harvested crop to rotate. A pickup device and a conveying and cutting device are provided upstream of a storage chamber that extends to the inlet of the press chamber and receives harvested crop in a storage phase of the baler. An element that interrupts or releases flow of harvested crop from the storage chamber to the press chamber is provided and acted on by a control and governing device. The storage chamber is a flat shaping and pressing channel for the harvested crop conveyed in the storage phase of the baler operation. The channel has a height-adjustable end and a cross-section that at least temporarily in the storage phase tapers in flow direction of harvested crop to the press chamber.

A baling press for producing large square high-density bales has a pick-up device picking up crop, a cutting device downstream of the pick-up device, a conveying device downstream of the cutting device, and a pressing channel disposed downstream of the conveying device and receiving the crop from the conveying device. The crop is shaped to high-density bales in the pressing channel. A tying device is provided that, for ensuring a permanent cohesion of the bales and completing the bales, ties tying medium strands, connected in endless loops, in longitudinal direction of the bales about the bales. A spacing of outermost tying medium strands, disposed next to outer parallel longitudinal bale edges, relative to the outer parallel longitudinal bale edges, respectively, is at least as large as or greater than an average spacing between neighboring tying medium strands in a transverse direction transverse to the longitudinal bale edges.

A harvester for harvesting stalky crops has an intake and conveying device having an endless conveyor provided with outwardly oriented cutting, holding, and conveying elements that form cutting planes and holding planes. The endless conveyor has a supply area for transferring crop to an inlet opening of a processing device. The supply area has a stripping device with clearing elements each having a stripping surface. The stripping surfaces of the clearing elements are remote from a holder and face forwardly in the traveling and working direction. The stripping surfaces are vertical in an end area pointing in the traveling and working direction and positioned in a common vertical plane. The stripping surfaces have a section extending from the end area in a direction of crop flow and diverge with increasing spacing from one another in the direction of crop flow.

Harvester

A harvesting machine for harvesting corn and similar crops on stalks has at least one circulating endless conveyor for engaging a crop, wherein the endless conveyor forms a crop feed area for feeding the crop to an inlet opening of a processing device for further processing the crop. The endless conveyor has a lower cutting plane for the crop with outwardly extending conveying and guiding elements and at least one cutting blade arranged below the conveying and guiding elements. The cutting blade has a stepped configuration and, viewed in a running direction of the conveying and guiding elements, has cutting segments. Each cutting segment has a cutting edge and extends at a slant outwardly relative to a circulating path of the conveying and guiding elements. The cutting blade has cutting segment steps positioned between two neighboring ones of the cutting segments, respectively.

A harvesting machine, especially a self-propelled pick-up chopper for picking up and chopping corn, wilted grass, green feed and similar harvested produce, including an ejection elbow arranged after pulling in and chopping devices for transferring harvested produce to a loading space of an accompanying vehicle. In order to free the operator of the harvesting machine from the burden of the cumbersome positioning work after each change in the direction of travel, the ejection elbow can be swiveled by a motor controlled by a control device from a first operating position into a second operating position which corresponds to the first operating position of the ejection elbow mirrored in the vertical median plane.

A self-propelled harvesting machine has an attachment for picking up cut crop or for harvesting stalked crop and a processing device for chopping the crop. A curved spout is arranged downstream of the processing device for picking up the crop at a pick-up location and transferring it to a drop location on a transport vehicle. A control device adjusts an operating speed of the drive motor to idle speed, nominal speed, and a speed range below the nominal speed. The drive motor, when the attachment has a great working width and the distance between pick-up location and drop location of the curved spout has a great length, is operated at nominal speed and, when the attachment has a minimal working width and the distance between pick-up location and drop location of the curved spout has a minimal length, is operated at a reduced speed.

A rotary rake for a hay making machine has prong brackets rotating about a substantially vertically aligned axis and having prongs at their outer ends and provided with respective eccentrically positioned cam rollers within the gyro casing and with respective journal bearings axially locked on the prong brackets, so that a compact subassembly is formed which is adapted to be introduced into and to be locked in at least two apertures within the gyro casing positioned one behind the other in a spaced relationship.
