A processing plant for metal strips () has a welding machine, a strip store downstream of the welding machine and a processing device downstream of the strip store. The metal strips are welded to form a continuous strip with the welding machine, which is stored in the strip store and output from there to the processing device. The metal strips are connected via diagonally extending weld seams. To join the weld seams, first the strip head () and the strip foot () of the metal strips are twisted and the two strips are connected by forming the weld seam. The weld seam extends only transversely to the transport direction (x) during the welding process. Finally, the strip head and the strip foot of the metal strips are twisted back again. As a result, the weld seam now extends diagonally to the transport direction (x).

Processing method and plant for welding metal strips

A rolling mill has a rolling stand () in which a flat rolled product () composed of metal is rolled. A sensor device (), which detects at least one measured variable (M) characteristic of a material property of the flat rolled product (), is arranged upstream and/or downstream of the rolling stand (). The material property can be, in particular, an electromagnetic property or a mechanical property of the rolled product (). The sensor device () transfers the detected measured variable (M) to a control device () for the rolling mill. Taking into account the measured variable (M), the control device () determines a control value (A) for the rolling stand (). The control of the rolling stand () influences the material property of the flat rolled product (). The control value (A) is a ratio of the peripheral speeds (vO, vU) at which the upper and the lower working rolls () of the rolling stand () rotate.

Rolling mill with rolling dependent on material properties

The invention relates to a method for suppressing the influence of roll eccentricities on the run-out thickness of a rolled stock, which runs through a rolling stand, roll eccentricities being identified by using a process model and taken into consideration in the determination of a correction signal for at least one final control element, preferably a final control element for the adjustment position, of the rolling stand, wherein the measured tensile force upstream of the rolling stand is fed to the process model to identify the roll eccentricities. According to the invention, variations in tensile force are fed back in a targeted manner to reduce the effects of periodic roll eccentricities on the rolled stock, whereas all other sources of variation are eliminated. A process model of the rolling nip and the rolls, preferably based on the observer principle, produces reliable data on the roll eccentricity.
