A device for heating adapters for mounting tools for use in machine tools. The device comprises a base part in which an adapter for inserting or removing a tool is arranged such that the insertion direction of the tool extends towards the base part. The device also comprises a heating part designed for heating the adapter arranged in the base part, the base part and the heating part being displaceable relative to one another in the insertion direction of the tool. The base part comprises a mounting device for retaining the adapter in a fixed manner on the base part during heating. The adapter and the mounting device are provided with elements for interlocking interaction for retaining the adapter on the base part.

A shrink-fit chuck having a receiving body, a receiving opening for a tool shank, arranged in the receiving body, an accumulation and collection chamber arranged in the front region of the receiving opening and at least one coolant supply channel leading to the accumulation and collection chamber. The accumulation and collection chamber is delimited to the front by a ring bar arranged at the front end of the receiving opening. The internal diameter of the ring bar is adjusted to the internal diameter of the receiving opening in such a manner that as small an annular gap as possible exists between the ring bar and the tool shank. A plurality of outlet openings are provided in the ring bar for discharging to the outside a coolant routed via the coolant supply channel into the accumulation and collection chamber.

According to the invention, on an axial section which forms an axial bracing section (VA), the tool holder () has a bracing arrangement () which, at least during operation of the tool holder (), subjects the tool holder () to a bracing force (Vk) with a bracing force component (Vk) acting in the axial direction.

Vibration-damped tool holder

To compensate for tolerances and diameter differences during the chucking of a tool shank () in a tool holder () of the shrink-fit chuck type, a diameter-compensating bush () is provided. The diameter-compensating bush () has an outer sleeve () having a tapered inner circumferential surface () and an inner sleeve () arranged coaxially therein and having a tapered outer circumferential surface (). Once the diameter-compensating bush () has been put onto the tool shank () and the inner sleeve () has been drawn into the outer sleeve (), for example by means of a ring nut (), for the diameter compensation, the outer sleeve () is thermally shrunk in place in the locating section () of the tool holder (). In this way, rotary tools whose tool shank () does not have a diameter corresponding to the diameter or the tolerance requirements of the tool holder () can be chucked in a tool holder (), for example, of the shrink-fit chuck type.

The invention relates to a shrinking device for shrinking a rotary tool into a central receiving opening of a toolholder which holds said rotary tool in a press fit. The device an induction heating device for thermally expanding the toolholder in the area of the receiving opening. A cooling device with at least one cooling collar which can be placed on the toolholder, in physical contact with the same, and through which a liquid coolant can flow, is provided for cooling the receiving opening area of the toolholder. This liquid cooling considerably reduces the overall time span needed for the shrinking process.

Shrinking arrangement for a tool holder

A shrinking arrangement for a tool holder is provided which retains a rotary tool with a press fit in a central accommodation opening. The arrangement includes an induction-heating arrangement for thermally expanding the tool holder in the region of the accommodating opening. The induction-heating arrangement includes an induction-coil unit which is guided on a vertical guide column such that it can be displaced with its coil axis vertical and which is connected, in particular via a flexible cable, to an induction-current generator which is fixed in relation to the column, and in that arranged on the induction-coil unit is a contact switch which can be actuated manually and by means of which the supply of induction current to the induction-coil unit can be switched on and off in a freely selectable manner at least for a limited period of time.

Shrinking arrangement for tool holder having an induction-heating arrangement

To set the length of a rotary tool (), to be thermally shrunk in place in a tool holder (), by means of an inductive heating device (), a setting device is provided with a positioning holder () for the rotary tool (), this positioning holder () being freely displaceable, but lockable, along a guide () and its tool push-in movement into the thermally expanded tool holder () being limited by a stop (). The rotary tool () bears with its tip () against a stop () of the positioning holder (). By means of a length-measuring device (), the stop () limiting the push-in movement can be limited to a position in which the tip () of the rotary tool () is at a predetermined distance from a reference surface () of a holder receptacle (), holding the tool holder () during the shrink-fitting operation, or from a corresponding reference surface of the tool holder ().

Apparatus for the clamping of a rotary tool in a tool holder

The induction coil () of an arrangement which heats a tool-holder () inductively for the purpose of changing a tool shank () retained with a press-fit therein has a winding (), in the case of which the number of coil turns per unit of length in the direction of the coil axis and/or the number of coil turns per unit of surface area is smaller in an intermediate region located, in the direction of the coil axis, between two main winding regions () than in the two main winding regions () and/or the internal winding diameter is smaller in the two main winding regions () than in the intermediate region and/or, at least in an axial sub-region of the induction coil (), increases from the two main winding regions () in the direction of the intermediate region. Such a winding achieves uniform heating of the tool-holder () in the axial direction of the tool shank () and, accordingly, it is possible even for tool shanks () retained with very small tolerances in the press-fit of the tool-holder () to be released from the shrink-fit without jamming.

Induction coil for an inductive shrinking apparatus

The invention relates to a shrinking device () for shrinking a rotary tool () into a central receiving opening of a toolholder () which holds said rotary tool () in a press fit. The device comprises an induction heating device () for thermally expanding the toolholder () in the area of the receiving opening. A cooling device () with at least one cooling collar () which can be placed on the toolholder (), in physical contact with the same, and through which a liquid coolant can flow, is provided for cooling the receiving opening area of the toolholder. This liquid cooling considerably reduces the overall time span needed for the shrinking process.
